Yazd Province Surrounded by 20 Natural Hazards

The Yazd provincial crisis management director-general said that 20 of the 37 hazards recognized nationwide have been identified in the province. He stated that preparedness of executive and service agencies, public education, and increased community resilience are key requirements for reducing damage from natural disasters, and that numerous preventive and operational programs have been developed and implemented across the province.

Referring to the identification of 20 risks out of the total of 37 known risks of the country in this province, the Director General of Yazd Crisis Management said: "Preparation of executive and service providers, public education and increasing people's resilience are among the most important requirements for reducing damages caused by natural disasters, and in this regard, several preventive and operational programs have been developed and implemented in the province."
