Tabriz - The Director General of State Penitentiary of East Azerbaijan province announced the heavy condemnation of a food industry unit for illegally keeping and selling 693 bags of flour, including subsidized flour and industrial flour.

According to the report of Ambassador Arjan Samad Hazrati, on Tuesday, a food industry unit in Tabriz was heavily condemned for the illegal storage and sale of 693 bags of flour (including subsidized flour and industrial flour) and stated: This shipment was discovered during the joint operation of the Economic Security Police and following reports from the public, and investigations showed that the mentioned flours lacked the necessary legal documents and registration in the official distribution chain.

The director general of East Azarbaijan State Penitentiary, emphasizing the importance of flour as one of the strategic and basic goods in the country's food security, added: Any movement, purchase and sale of this product outside the official system and without recording information in the distribution chain, can be an example of smuggling and violation of public rights.

Hazrati clarified: We will not allow subsidized goods that are allocated using government resources to meet people's needs, to be stored and traded in the black market or illegal warehouses.

Referring to the decision issued in this case, he said: Considering that the defendant could not prove the transparency and legal registration of the goods in the CIMA system, the sixth branch of the first instance of Tabriz Government Penalty ordered the complete seizure of the goods and the payment of a fine of 15 billion and 874 million Rials in favor of the government fund.

The Director General of East Azarbaijan State Penalties noted that the amount of fine determined is equal to twice the value of subsidized goods and one times the value of free goods.

Hazrati emphasized: This verdict is a clear message for the activists in the field of production and distribution of basic goods to register all their activities in the monitoring systems and to avoid any activity outside the legal regulations.
