Portrait of Veteran Basiri: Eyes That Became Guiding Lights

Mashhad – Basiri war veterans are men who, by crossing the boundary between death and life and sacrificing their sight, kept the sun of insight burning in the sky of sacrifice, knowledge, and art of the Islamic Revolution of Iran.

Ambassador of Arjan - Provinces Group, Atefeh Wafaian: "White Cane Day" is a reminder of the bright-hearted people who, by losing their sight, drew a brighter vision of sacrifice, insight and freedom before the eyes of the society. Men came from the lineage of light, who left the material world with all its colors and beauty behind in the battlefields of right against wrong, so that the lasting sign of independence and security of this land would not be covered by the dust of darkness.

Sometimes the narrative of these men is a surprising return from the border between life and death; A narrative of the seconds when the wounded body was silent in the morgue, but the awakened spirit and connection to the source of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) gave a new life that is flowing today in the stronghold of service and knowledge.

Another number of these brave men, in the field of defense and defense, turned to creating masterpieces of art and composition for the revolution by devoting their eyes and bodies to prove that original art is a deep reflection of the soul of believing people who have illuminated the darkness of appearance with the light of the heart.

Today, these visionary veterans are not only the narrators of the front line of self-sacrifice, but they also call the youth to science and knowledge with words born from sincerity and order everyone to remember the ideals of the Imam (RA) and protect the values of the Islamic Revolution.

A veteran who conquered the bastion of art by losing his sight in defense

Gholamhossein Ranjbar, a veteran of 70% of the holy defense, in a conversation with Mehr reporter about the "White Staff" day, said about the way he became a veteran: "My veteran date is March 11, 1365." On that day, we were in the defense area and we went to the field to bring the wounded Iraqis, when due to the explosion of a mine with an Iraqi grenade, I lost two of my eyes and my face, jaw and side were severely damaged.

Regarding his artistic and cultural activities after the treatment, this veteran added: After completing the treatment and because of my strong interest in art and music, I turned to this field. I started by practicing and learning music methods and then I entered the field of composition. I cooperated with radio and television and composed music pieces for various programs such as "Era of Khorasan", "Ma and You", "Syngamed with Holy Defense" and various occasions such as Teacher's Day, Bombing in Motahar Razavi Shrine (Pilgrims Witness), Iran, Madar, Janbaz, Basij and Children.

He said about the amount of his productions: So far, I have produced about 20 to 30 pieces of music with words recorded on radio and at least 500 pieces of music without words. Also, in the 4th Radio and Television Festival, with a poem by Mostafa Rahmandoost and the singing of Maeda Nasr Azadani, I won second place in the children's composition category.

Renjbar, who works as both a musician and a composer, announced the production of his new works and said: I recently composed a song called "Proud Iran" and a piece called "Rehbarm" with a poem by my teacher from Shiraz, which was used by the "Zhaje" veterans group in Shiraz.

In another part of his speech, this veteran said about the need to strengthen the insight of teenagers and young people: Our country needs science and young people should take steps in this direction.

Referring to an advice addressed to the people, he emphasized: People should not forget what the Imam (RA) said. A point that is unfortunately being forgotten in economic matters. People should not confuse economy with Imam's way.

return from the morgue to life; Narration of a 70% Mashhad veteran about life with a white cane

Gholam Hossein Rehbardar Khorasani, a veteran of 70% of Holy Defense, in a conversation with Mehr reporter narrated his memories of being in the fronts of right against falsehood and referring to the way he was sent to the operational areas, he stated: On August 27, 1992, I was sent to the front of Sosangerd region by Jihad Sazandegi, and in July 1999, I was in the demolition group when I lost both my hands and two eyes due to a mine explosion and became a veteran.

This veteran further stated: At that moment, no one was by my side, and due to the blast wave, I was thrown eight meters up and fell into the barbed wire. So that I was not able to speak and breathe and they took me to the morgue. After a few days, when the bodies were supposed to be moved to Mashhad, I heard people's voices and realized that I was inside the coffin. After my protest, the doctors examined me and found me fully conscious, although half of my body was badly burned from the waist up on the right side.

He added: My right eye had light for 45 days, but over time, I lost my sight and became blind. In 1963 and then in 1964, I was sent to Germany to treat body burns and for four years, I was in Germany for 9 months and in Iran for 3 months.

Rehbardar Khorasani, referring to the continuation of his life and education, said: I entered the Road and Transport Department from the end of 1967 and 1968 and worked as a telephone operator, then I continued my education and in 2013 and 2014 I managed to get a doctorate degree in the field of Persian literature, and I am currently serving Basir veterans.

Referring to his family structure, this veteran said: I have three children, and I am completely satisfied with all three of them and my wife, and they have left a lot of stones for me.

We consciously chose the way to defend Islam

In a conversation with Mehr reporter, Ali Mohammad Yousefi, a veteran who defended the shrine, said about the way he became a veteran: We were in Syria in 2016, and during an operation that I don't remember the exact details of, I was injured in both eyes and lost both of my sight. After this incident, I was first admitted to Tehran's Baqiyallah Hospital, and after several surgeries, I gradually realized that I had lost my sight and that there would be no recovery. Naturally, anyone who experiences such a condition first has pain and discomfort; Of course, although people get upset about these conditions, we are used to it.

This veteran said about his difficult moments and comforting factors after this incident: In those difficult moments, no one understands us, because our conditions are different from others and a healthy person cannot understand our situation. Of course, sometimes we miss and when we remember the days of good health, the situation is different, but in the end, we calm ourselves down by trusting in God and that whatever He wants is right. The world after not seeing is hard; It may be easier for someone who has not seen the world from the beginning.

In response to the question that if he goes back, he will choose this path again, he said: We had already chosen this path and made our thoughts. If our health returns again, we will return for Islam and values, and we will continue on this path that we have chosen, taking responsibility for it.
