The head of the Knowledge-Based Technology Commercialization and Employment Organization of Academic Jihad explained the reason for and importance of Academic Jihad's participation in the first national 'Manavin' event.
According to the report of Ambassador Arjan, citing the commercialization of technology and knowledge-based employment of Jihad University (Setfa); Dr. Hamid Saber Farzam, Vice President of Jihad University and Head of Technology Commercialization and Knowledge-Based Employment Organization (SETFA), while attending the first national event of Technologies and Creative Industries (Manwin) and Jihad University Pavilion, explained the reasons, goals and approach of Jihad University in this exhibition and stated: It is safe to say that Jihad University is the first academic institution in the country to enter the field of creative industries and operate has started in this field years ago; That is, even in the era when the literature related to parks, growth centers, knowledge-based companies and the simultaneous economic and technological view of the cultural and artistic fields had not been formed in the country, Jihad University was active in this sector with a progressive and effective view.
He added: "Today, by the grace of God and without any special task or special support from Jihad University, the first and only national park of soft technologies and cultural industries of the country was founded by Jihad University and is operating." In addition, in the other two science and technology parks of this institution in Alborz and Kermanshah provinces, as well as satellite growth centers and university jihad innovation centers throughout the country, various university nuclei, companies and groups are engaged in activities and services in the field of creative industries, either professionally or alongside their other missions.
Pointing to the nature of the Manvin event, the head of Setfa pointed out: This event, which was organized this year by the efforts of the Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy as the first specialized event in this field, was an opportunity for a university to showcase its experiences, capabilities and programs based on its inherent mission. In this regard, in Jihad University's booth, the National Park of Cultural and Soft Industries, other parks, growth centers and innovation centers of this organization have participated, and despite the space limitation, we made a selection and exposed examples of Jihad University's extensive capabilities and activities across the country to the eyes of those interested.
Development of technological infrastructure and innovation in Isfahan province
Referring to the role of Isfahan province as one of the important scientific hubs of the country, Saberfarzam said: Isfahan has always been a leader and active in these fields. Currently, various innovation centers are active in Isfahan under two university units (Isfahan Industrial Unit and Isfahan University Unit). In addition, recently, with the cooperation and participation of Isfahan Governorate, the establishment of a research town and innovation center in the field of agriculture and pharmaceutical industries has been keyed, which is followed in a specialized manner. Of course, along with these specialized sectors, activities in creative and cultural fields will also be vigorously pursued and all these capacities will be exploited.
The mission of the commercialization organization; Supplementing and applying the achievements of the vice-chancellors
In response to a point of view about the position of this organization in the future of this institution, the vice president of Jihad University stated: It should not be said that the commercialization organization alone is the future of Jihad, because the future of Jihad University is formed in all its elements, including research, education and culture. Jihad University has worked in cultural, research and educational fields for many years and has achieved a lot of achievements and hard and soft technologies. The main mission of the Organization for the Commercialization of Technology and Knowledge-Based Employment (SETFA) is to apply these technologies at the community level, to introduce them, to follow up on their marketing status and their establishment in the market, and finally, to reorder the daily needs of the society to the research, cultural and educational fields of the university jihad to deepen research and development; Therefore, the life and mission of this organization is completely defined along with the activities of other Jihad University Vice-Chancellors, and without those achievements, the commercialization activity will have no meaning and meaning.
The pioneer of university jihad in the employment of graduates and the beginning of a new round of developments
Reciting the background of this institution's actions in the field of employment, Saberfarzam reminded: Jihad University is considered the leading institution in the country in the employment of graduates. In 1377, when the initial structure of this department was founded under the title of "Graduate Employment Assistance Organization", basically there was no institution in the country that would specifically enter into the employment of academics. Realizing this necessity, Jihad University established several software measures; including providing information about job opportunities through Bazar Kar magazine, setting up career guidance and counseling systems (such as JobIran and the employment system dot IR), and compiling and publishing the first indigenous entrepreneurship booklets and pamphlets in the country in the late 70s and early 80s, which continued with the holding of specialized entrepreneurship courses.
Referring to the ups and downs of the past, he added: In the new management period of Jihad University under the guidance of Dr. Montazeri, there has been a very rapid entry into the field of employment. The parts that were thought to be unnecessary for Jihad in the past and were abandoned have been revived and activated. Today, in addition to the previous actions, new plans in the form of events, events and specialized systems are being followed up and implemented in the Employment Deputy of Setfa Organization.
Referring to the valuable statements of the Martyr Leader of the Islamic Revolution (RA), the head of Setfa stated: The motto and the main theme of our work in Setfa is the wise interpretation of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution who said that "every organization or room that operates and plans in the field of employment has the authority of a war room"; That is, this issue requires the highest degree of importance, speed of action, thought and opportunism. Therefore, in addition to the continuation of information services, counseling, career guidance and the production of specialized texts, recently the first "Knowledge-Based Employment Think Tank" was launched by Jihad University to focus specifically on policy research, preparation and compilation of policy documents in the field of employment of graduates and specialized elites.
The approach of university jihad to the gap between university education and the needs of the labor market
The vice president of Jihaddaneshgahi noted the gap between academic training and the needs of the real labor market: the fundamental mission of universities is the production of science, scientific authority, and knowledge transfer, and the university should not be reduced to a center for training employees; The task of the university is to train scientists and researchers. Although the labor market is mixed with technology and expertise, it has its own special executive and industrial mechanisms and requirements; Therefore, it should not be expected that a university student, from the very beginning of graduation, has all the skills and micro-job capabilities of the factory and industry environment. The university must fulfill its social responsibility towards the society and the needs of the industry, but it must not neglect its academic mission.
He emphasized: In the meantime, institutions such as Jihad University have undertaken the important task of filling this gap with a concept called "Completing education for employment". Just as people go through educational degrees in the form of "supplementary education" to improve their knowledge, they also need short-term and intensive training to prepare them to enter the workplace. For example, a person who studied accounting has the theoretical foundations, but to be in the operating environment of a factory, he needs short-term skill courses and career counseling. In fact, this is where the intensive and specialized courses of university jihad provide the basis for their empowerment and successful entry into the business environment.
