Shirvan – Deputy Governor of Shirvan said most employment and income for the people of Shirvan depend on agriculture, and Shirvan holds a distinguished position in the agricultural sector.

According to Mehr reporter, Vahid Mirzamohammadzadeh said on Tuesday afternoon during the media tour of land affairs management held at Shirghani greenhouse in Hossein Abad, Shirvan: In the past months when we were faced with war, we were able to overcome this problem and the issue of preserving land use is of great importance.

He further added: The majority of the employment and income of the people of Shirvan depends on agriculture. Shirvan has a privileged position in the field of agriculture and is one of the top cities in the province in terms of wheat production.

The deputy governor of Shirvan stated: Last week, the apple festival was held for the first time in the city, which was a good thing to begin with, and we were able to introduce one of the city's strategic products at the provincial and national levels.

Mirza Mohammadzadeh stated: This year, the problems of selling apples have decreased significantly and this issue will definitely have a positive effect on the price of goods and the market value. We hope to continue holding festivals for all agricultural products.

Referring to the challenges facing agriculture in the city, he said: One of the main problems is the lack of national lands in suitable locations. If the investment comes or has a development plan, it will face the challenge of the land.

The deputy governor of Shirvan added: The reduction of water resources in recent years has reduced the area under cultivation and we have no choice but to bring industries to the city to provide people's livelihood.

In the end, Mirza Mohammadzadeh pointed to the necessity of revising the laws related to land and said: Some lands have lost their cultivation capacity for years, and by revising the laws, we should use these capacities to establish related and complementary agricultural industries to complete the value chain in the city and provide both food security and farmers' livelihood.
