Travone Reed, a 26-year-old Jamaican soccer player, scored a penalty in the Caribbean Cup in a strange way and went viral on social media.
Club Sando from Trinidad and Tobago and Mount Pleasant from Jamaica met on Thursday in the first leg of the CONCACAF Caribbean Cup semi-finals, according to "Sports Three".
Warner Brown scored the first goal for Mount Pleasant in the 11th minute and the Jamaican team had the opportunity to increase the difference in the table by announcing a penalty in the 36th minute.
Travone Reed hit the penalty kick, but he did it in a very strange way. The left striker of the team moved towards the ball at a very slow speed and hit the ball after about 20 seconds of running. Teshon Rego, the goalkeeper of Club Sando, recognized the direction of the shot and blocked Reid's penalty.
The visitors were in trouble after Travone Reid missed a penalty. Club Sando equalized in the 56th minute thanks to Daniel David's goal. In the 85th minute, the hosts could have finished the job, but Kyle Ming heroically pulled the ball off the goal line and saved Mount Pleasant.
The second leg of the Caribbean Cup semi-final will be held on October 23 in Jamaica, where the assignment of the team that will advance to the final will be determined.
In the other semi-final match, Portmore United from Jamaica and Violet from Haiti will face each other. The home team won the first leg with a score of 3-1.
