Save $40 on the Microsoft Xbox Elite Series 2 Core Wireless Professional Controller

Worth the upgrade

Do you prefer PlayStation or Xbox? I am in the second camp. My favorite PC controllers have always been modeled after the tried-and-true asymmetric design of the Xbox. And when it comes to Xbox controllers, you can't get much better than Microsoft's top-of-the-line model. For a limited time, Amazon is offering the Xbox Series X Elite Series 2 Core Wireless Controller for $109.99 with free shipping. It's $150 everywhere now.

Xbox Elite Core Wireless Controller for $109.99

Xbox Elite Series 2 Core Wireless Controller

The Elite Series 2 Core is the official Xbox controller. The Core model is physically similar to the previous $200 Xbox Elite Series 2 controller, with integrated pro features such as adjustable tension thumbsticks, a closed rubber grip, and shorter hair locks. The only difference is that the original Elite controller comes with more accessories: extra sets of hands and feet, thumb sticks, D-pad and travel case. The Elite Series 2 Core does not come with any of these accessories. You can purchase them individually as a component package for $59.99.

The price cut may be a precursor to the release of the 3 Series

IGN's Jacqueline Thomas has leaked rumors that an Elite Series 3 release could be on the horizon. However, I'm not too optimistic that the launch price will be the same as the Xbox Series 2 console, which debuted at $179.99. Considering the price of the Elite2 series with the component package is $200, I would expect the same price or higher.
