A new round of Palestinian-Palestinian talks aimed at ending the differences will be held today in Cairo.
According to Ambassador Arjan, in the framework of the new round of Palestinian-Palestinian dialogues, a meeting will be held in the capital of Egypt today, Wednesday 22 Mehr 1405, with the presence of leaders from Fatah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and the People's Front for Palestine.
According to Palestinian sources, the main focus of this round of talks includes dealing with internal disputes, restoring national unity and strengthening it, and examining how Hamas and Islamic Jihad will join the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).
Palestinian sources told the reporter of Al Jazeera: In this two-day meeting, the participants will examine the ways to create the necessary conditions to reach political understandings in order to hold Palestinian elections.
The Palestinian parliamentary elections were supposed to be held on November 28, 2026, but Mahmoud Abbas, the head of the Palestinian Authority, postponed the Palestinian presidential and parliamentary elections to September 11, 2027 by issuing a decree last Saturday.
Ambassador Arjan "Wafa" announced: This decree was adopted based on national consultations with Palestinian groups and political forces, while all Palestinian groups agree on the obstacles in the way of holding elections and the need to create the necessary political-security conditions for holding them.
