CAA Co-Chair Kevin Hovan dedicated the Angel Food Van project to his late father.
Patriarch Martin "Pop" Hovan was described as a devoted husband, father of six, grandfather and "proud New Yorker" who worked for the New York Department of Transportation and the Encyclopedia Britannica.
Martin "Pop" Hovan will be hitting the road soon for Project Angel Food.
Veteran CAA agent Kevin Hovan, who serves as co-chair alongside Brian Lord and Richard Lovett, has reunited with the organization to provide what Project Angel Food calls a "transformational" donation through the 17th van in its fleet. The gift is notable in that it marks the second Hovan van donated to Project Angel Food (following in honor of his late brother, beloved talent manager Chris Hovan) and the first all-electric van in the Project Angel Food fleet.

The white van with blue lettering, used by the nonprofit to deliver meals to terminally ill patients throughout Los Angeles County, was unveiled Wednesday at a special ceremony outside CAA headquarters in St. Louis. Members of the Hovan family (including Apex PR founder Stephen Hovan), CAA leaders such as Lovett and Michael Mend, and Project Angel Food CEO Richard Ayoub and Chief Development Officer Lashanda Maze were in attendance. They all had the honor of cutting the ribbon to take a photo with Hovan.
"My father, Martin 'Pop' Hovan, believed in reaching out to people and helping wherever he could. Project Angel Food does this every day, providing not only meals, but compassion and connection. Facing serious illness, Pop would have been happy to know that this gift would help put the organization's first electric delivery van into service and allow them to reach even more people in need," Hovan said in a statement. He said: It is very important for our family to honor him through an organization that beautifully reflects his values.
The patriarch was described as a devoted husband, father of six, grandfather and "proud New Yorker" who worked for the New York Department of Transportation and the Encyclopedia Britannica. He also once owned and operated a neighborhood deli. He was married to the late Genevieve for 46 years before her husband's passing.
Van Martin "Pop" Hovan will travel across the county and be part of a fleet that delivers more than 1.5 million meals each year, bringing "not only life-saving meals, but hope and love to our often invisible neighbors," Ayoub said.
