From Cartal to Tartar: Bizarre Verbal Clash at Persepolis Coach's Press Conference

Persepolis coach's press conference was overshadowed by a bizarre incident and verbal clash.

According to "Varzesh Se", the press conference of the head coach of Persepolis after the goalless draw against Khyber, instead of being followed by Mehdi Tartar's technical explanations and questions from reporters, was influenced for a few minutes by the behavior of the person in charge of the meeting. Repeating orders like "short, short", "don't talk" and "don't talk" created an atmosphere where even the response of the head coach of Persepolis was interrupted in the middle of the discussion.

Persepolis had missed several scoring opportunities in this match and the referee's decision to cancel the penalty, the quality of the field and the performance of the attackers were also important issues of the game. It was natural that reporters would ask the head coach about these issues in the post-match meeting, and Tartar would have the opportunity to explain the reasons for his team's suspension.

The first intervention happened right when one of these technical questions was raised. A reporter asked a question about the difference between Persepolis' performance in the two halves and Tartar's reactions to the players' wasted opportunities, but he was warned before completing the question. His objection to interrupting his speech continued the discussion, and the head coach's attempt to answer could not prevent the repetition of interference.

This is not the first time that the press conference of Persepolis in Khorramabad is accompanied by tension. Earlier, after the dramatic two-to-one victory of the Persians against Khyber, Ismail Kartal's meeting was also controversial. That night, the sidelines of the match and the events after it reached the meeting hall, and the then head coach of Persepolis faced the reporters in a tense atmosphere.

In the same meeting, Kartal criticized the insults to Ali Alipour and his team and Havashi after the match and said: "Football does not progress like this." He emphasized respect in football and believed that winning and losing should not cause this respect to disappear. However, the meeting itself continued to deviate from the normal course.

In that conference, a journalist talked about the sidelines of the game and insults to Biranvand were accompanied by the request of Alireza Ashraf, director of Persepolis media, to ask questions about the match. There was a lot of discussion in the hall and Kartal left the meeting surprised and upset. Now, in the Tartar meeting, the questions and answers about the competition were under the shadow of tension, with the difference that the interference of the person in charge of the meeting formed the main part of the margin.

Tartar was explaining about the missed opportunities, the need for more training and the unfavorable conditions of the field, but during a part of the meeting, he could not continue his answer consistently. Persepolis media director also had to ask to be allowed to speak. This incident shows that the issue went beyond a warning to shorten the question and it also affected the possibility of the head coach's response.

Conducting a press conference is associated with setting the turn and time of questions, but frequently interrupting conversations and addressing the audience with phrases such as "don't talk", itself becomes a factor of tension. In this meeting, the protest of the journalists, Tartar's interruption of the answer and the end of the meeting when the question about the Football Cup was raised, led to a series of events, the details of which clearly show the manner in which the organizer of the event dealt with the attendees.

Mehdi Tartar's press conference after Persepolis' draw against Khyber Khorramabad was accompanied by strange side effects. The official of Khorramabad Football Board, who was in charge of the meeting, intervened several times during the questioning process and even during the response of the head coach of Persepolis and reacted to the audience with expressions such as "don't talk" and "don't talk".

The first tension arose when one of the reporters asked questions about the conditions of Persepolis in the two halves, the missed opportunities and Tartar's reactions on the side of the field. The reporter had not yet finished his question when the office manager sat down repeating "short, short!" It came between his words.

The reporter objected to this rude intrusion, saying, "You can't say that, I'm asking the question." The answer of the football board official was: "I can...short, short!" Addressing Ashraf, the journalist said: "Mr. Ashraf, we want to raise the question..."

At that moment, Tartar tried to start answering the question, saying, "Anyway, we need to work on this more..." but the interruptions continued. This time in the middle of Persepolis head coach's speech, M. Seoul addressed the reporter again and said: "Short, short." You have to get permission."

After that, the tone of the warnings became sharper and the words "Don't talk!" Don't talk!" Addressed to the reporter. Another reporter protested with the answer "Don't talk!" encountered During this conflict, even Tartar could not continue his answer for a few moments and the technical issue raised was under the shadow of the discussion between the meeting official and the journalists.

Another person present protested this way of dealing with the phrase "with this ego of yours...". The official of the football board replied to him: "You are a photographer, you should not be here at all." This sentence dragged the edge of the meeting from limiting the time of questions to protesting the presence of one of the attendees in the hall.

Persepolis media director also intervened to allow the conversation to continue and said: "Let them talk." After this request, the person in charge of the meeting emphasized once again: "Short question!" Please, Mr. Mehdi." Tartar was finally able to continue his answer about the scoring problems and talk about the need to work more with the players and the unfavorable field conditions.

Later, by calling Sharifi, Namdar and Yarahmadi, questions were raised about pre-match sensitivities, refereeing performance and attackers' failure, and Persepolis head coach answered them. However, interference in journalists' speech was not limited to the first part.

In the meantime, field reporters who had gone from Tehran to cover this match left the press conference hall.

When a reporter pointed out that the grass of Shahr Quds Stadium was not suitable, Tartar replied: "It's not good there either." The same reporter continued to say: "You are one of the best coaches after Bronco..." and the manager of the meeting interrupted his conversation again and said: "Ask about this game." Then the question about Tartar's satisfaction with the quality of the match was raised and the head coach of Persepolis stated that he was not very satisfied, although his team had good chances.

In the end, after Tartar thanked the fans and players, a question was raised about the FA Cup. The head coach of Persepolis started the answer and said: "We talked about this, it should be held... with young players." But the person in charge of the meeting intervened again with the phrase "Ask about the game" and then ended the press conference.

In this way, the interventions started from interrupting a technical question about opportunity wasting, ended up interrupting the head coach's answer and harsh remarks to reporters, and finally, Tartar's answer about the elimination cup was accompanied by the intervention of the meeting official.
