While discussing the upcoming Jennifer Body 2 sequel, the Oscar-winning writer explained that the sequel will "explore more about why Jennifer is sympathetic and what she's been through" after Jennifer was victimized by an evil ritual in the 2009 horror comedy that turned her into a boy.

"Jennifer is a sympathetic figure for me, before and after the transformation," she explained on the Petticoat Revolution podcast. "I mean, she's very isolated, she's very lonely, she's very insecure. Everyone remembers Jennifer when she's like, 'I'm a God,' or when she's at her brightest and most powerful. But people forget these moments in the movie where she's like a shell of herself, she's almost playing my Andy. So good."

Cody continued, "And one interesting thing — I can't talk too much about it — but you know we're doing a sequel to this movie, like, soon, and I felt like in the new movie, I could talk even more about why Jennifer sympathized and what she went through. And for me, it absolutely recognizes loneliness and heartbreak." Watch on Deadline

"I know some of the bones of it, so I'm not giving anything away, but it's going to be as fun and crazy as the first movie," Kusama told Deadline last year. And I have no doubt that Diablo will do something absolutely incredible with it.
