Conviction of 18 billion rials in the case of cigarette smuggling in Golestan

Gorgan- The Director General of Golestan State Penitentiary announced that an offender was sentenced to pay more than 18 billion and 900 million Rials in the case of smuggling 1,279 boxes of cigarettes in Gonbadkavus.

According to the report of Ambassador Arjan Reza Qashlagi, he stated: The case of removing 1,279 boxes of cigarettes from the country contrary to legal procedures was investigated in the first branch of Gonbadkavus government punishment for dealing with violations of goods and currency smuggling.

He added: due to the failure of the accused to provide valid documents and acceptable documentation, the alleged charge in this case was established and the investigating branch, in addition to confiscating the goods, sentenced the offender to pay a fine of 18 billion and 907 million Rials.

Referring to how this case was filed, the Director General of Golestan State Penitentiary said: The violation report was sent to the Government Penitentiary of Gonbadkavus by the post and rail and ground control of Inchebrun Border Company, and after investigation, a legal decision was issued.
