WWE's Drew McIntyre stars in the microdrama series Shadow Agent.

WWE star Drew McIntyre is set to star in the micro-drama series Shadow Agent.

WWE star Drew McIntyre has already proven how dangerous he can be in the ring.

He is a four-time World Champion, two-time Tag Team Champion, and one-time Intercontinental Champion. He has also won the Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank once each. With his bulky build and long, silky hair, the Scotsman almost looks like he was made for the cameras. In the past year, he has begun to prove this idea.

McIntyre starred in the 2024 film "The Killer Game" and is slated to be part of "The Last Droid" starring Russell Crowe and the "Highlander" reboot, which also stars Crowe and WWE Hall of Famer Dave Bautista. With his recent success, McIntyre starred in a micro-drama series with actor Chase Matheson and several other WWE stars.

McIntyre plays a dangerous secret agent. He goes undercover to protect a young girl from being targeted by a billionaire arms dealer. But what sets "Shadow Agent" apart from any other TV show in the genre is that it's featured on ReelShort.

ReelShort is a streaming service that produces short videos for the social media age. McIntyre told OutKick Dropkick that he is aware of the platform because he has to watch something on the plane when he travels around the world for wrestling and filming.

"I had a look at it," Buddov recalled after being asked if he wanted to star in the series.

Matheson told OutKick Dropkick that he was drawn to the show because of his martial arts background.

“I just felt like Adam, the character, was very similar to me and I loved how quickly I could resonate with that. I love the amount of action, comedy and a bit of romance that is sprinkled throughout the script. I thought, I have to be a part of this. And it was very different from all the other projects I've done."

Mattson said he didn't know much about McIntyre before working with him. He realized how big the professional wrestler was.

"Well, I'm 6-3, 215, I'm a big guy, too," he recalled. But he'd walk on set and I'd be like, "This guy's a giant." I'm big, it's a giant. But no, I didn't know anything else about him - he was a great man. And he came over and I was like, "Well, he's probably going to be really mean." But he is the nicest man I have ever met.

I felt really honored to be acting alongside Drew because he had just come off these movies with these big, heavy actors and I'm like, “Oh you're with me. This is very cool."

WWE will have a huge impact on Shadow Agent.

The trailer for the micro-drama dropped last week. WWE stars such as Royce Keys, Joe Hendry, Jacob Fatu, Nikita Lyons, Hank Walker and Tank Ledger appear. Michael Hayes and Booker T also made noise on the show.

McIntyre agreed that it shows WWE isn't just about sports entertainment. It's a lot of sports and fun across the board.

"It's not an understatement or understatement of the year these days," he said. I first came into this company in 2007 and I couldn't imagine it being bigger and since then I've seen the company grow and see the company everywhere in 180 countries, 28 different languages, 800 million homes, billions of people with social media followers B, on ESPN, Netflix, billion dollar deals involved by billion dollar investors around the world. ... It's nothing new, it's a billion dollar industry and it's great.

"WWW is partnering and giving our superstars the opportunity to show a different side of themselves in a more action-comedy acting space, and we hope to use our platform to highlight a lot of actors like Chase, because no matter how others look at it, it's the future."

"Agent of Shadows" will be released on ReelShort on October 23rd.
