In the distant past, the Nissan Games were held in the capital in the form of a four-way tournament with the participation of the provinces of Tehran, West Azerbaijan, Isfahan and Tabriz.
But for nearly two decades, the Nissan competitions were not held due to the financial limitations of the Assyrian Association.

According to this report, Dunya Mali ordered Habib Sotoudenejad, Director General of Sports and Youth Department of Tehran Province, to make the necessary arrangements to hold these competitions again in Tehran.
In this regard, he emphasized that sports activities of different religions are of great importance to the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and this ministry provides all kinds of assistance for the presence of every athlete in the fields.
Following the order of the Minister of Sports and Youth, Sotoudenejad also announced that the General Directorate of Sports and Youth of Tehran Province will provide the necessary hardware such as halls and dormitories for free to Assyrian athletes so that this event can take place again.
The population of Assyrians living in Iran is currently concentrated in the cities of Urmia, Isfahan, Ahvaz, Fardis Karaj, Tabriz and Tehran, and with the resumption of the Nissan Games, competitions will be held between these 6 provinces.
It is worth mentioning that the Assyrians have named the first day of their calendar year (April 1st-April 12th) as "Nisan".
Another topic discussed by the head of the Assyrian Association of Tehran with the Minister of Sports and Youth was the acquisition of the license of the Ashur Star Club.
In the current situation, the issuance of the license of this club has been suspended due to some administrative complications, and in this regard, it was decided to facilitate this request with the coordination of the general manager of the club affairs of the ministry.
The last stage of the national para-athletic team camp is being held in Tehran with the presence of 44 national athletes, and Dunyamali visited the preparation process of the athletes.
