Assets of a Defendant Seized in National Security Case in Yazd

Following monitoring of online activities and the publication of a series of posts and stories contrary to national security by a former political and social activist currently residing abroad, a judicial case was opened at the prosecutor's office and legal measures against him were put on the agenda.

Following the monitoring and investigation of the activities carried out in the cyberspace and the publication of a series of content and stories against national security by a former political and social activist who is currently living abroad, a court case was filed in the prosecutor's office and legal measures regarding him were put on the agenda.

According to the report of Ambassador Arjan from Judiciary Media Center, Mehdi Hasanpour, the Prosecutor of Yazd Province, stated: Based on the contents of the case and the documents obtained, according to the order of the judicial authority, the necessary measures have been taken to identify and prevent the transfer of the property and assets belonging to this accused.

He added: In this regard, a vehicle, a registration plate, the balance of bank accounts and five permanent mobile phone lines belonging to him have been confiscated or blocked according to judicial orders.

Yazd prosecutor emphasized that the measures taken were carried out within the framework of legal regulations and said: "Protecting public rights and maintaining national security is one of the duties of the judicial system, and in this case, the necessary measures have been taken to prevent the transfer or relocation of the accused's property until the final disposition of the case is determined, in accordance with judicial orders."

Hasanpour added: "Given that the case is in the stage of preliminary investigation, the final statement about the title of charge, the criminal responsibility of the accused and the final status of the property will depend on the completion of the investigation and the adoption of the appropriate judicial decision."

According to Article 2 of the Law "Strengthening the Punishment of Espionage and Cooperation with the Zionist Regime and Hostile Countries Against National Security and Interests", any security, military, economic, financial, technological or direct and indirect assistance measures, if the conditions stipulated in the law are fulfilled, can be subject to the penalties stipulated in this article, as the case may be.

The prosecutor of the center of Yazd province emphasized: This case, in which the accused is a female political and social activist, is still in the preliminary investigation stage and judicial actions will continue within the framework of legal regulations.
