Organization of health services in neighborhood mosques

The head of Basij organization of the medical community stated: A mosque-centered neighborhood can be a suitable platform for organizing social activities and providing services to the people. In the early years of the Islamic Revolution, the mosque, in addition to playing a role as a base for dealing with people's affairs, also had a special place in important issues of the country, including organizing and sending troops to the front.

He continued: In the new approach, we are trying to have health specialists and activists attend mosques and organize and guide their activities according to the health and treatment needs of the people of each neighborhood.

The activity of more than 117 health jihadist groups in the country

Referring to the capacity of health jihadist groups, Zarezadeh said: Currently, more than 117 health jihadist groups are active in the country, and their capacity can be used to provide more targeted services to the people.

He added: In this model, the activities of jihadist groups are organized based on the geography of the neighborhood and centered on the mosque, so that the abilities of health experts and activists based in each region can be used in accordance with the needs of the people of the same neighborhood.

The head of Basij medical community organization emphasized the need to identify and resolve people's health problems at the local level and stated: The goal is to place existing capacities in the health field in a more coherent framework and to provide healthcare services to the people with better access and more effectiveness.

Cooperation with the Ministry of Health for the development of health services

Referring to joint cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, Zarezadeh said: Our colleagues in the Ministry of Health also support this approach and cooperate in its implementation. In this regard, planning to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Health in the near future is on the agenda in order to provide more synergies and develop cooperation.

He added: The ultimate goal of all these measures is to make people benefit from healthcare services, increase their satisfaction and get closer to justice in health. So that the results of these programs are tangible in people's lives.

mobilization; People's capacity to promote health

The head of Basij organization of the medical community, emphasizing the role of the people in realizing the goals of this plan, explained: The main reason for Basij being included in this program is its wide popular capacity. From our point of view, mobilization means the presence and participation of people in various fields of service.

Zarezadeh continued: In the field of health, there are many experts and volunteers who provide jihadi services with a spirit of sacrifice and without financial expectations. Our effort is to use this valuable capacity in the form of more targeted activities centered on mosques and the needs of each neighborhood.

Referring to the capacity of active centers in the field of health, he said: More than 770 centers have been established in various centers of the country, including academic centers, and health activists can communicate with these centers to participate in programs and provide voluntary services.

Improving spiritual health along with providing medical services

Referring to the social and spiritual effects of voluntary activities in the field of health, Zarezadeh said: In addition to helping people who benefit from health and treatment services, these programs can also provide a basis for improving spiritual health and strengthening the sense of satisfaction and effectiveness among volunteers.

He emphasized: Utilizing the capacity of health professionals, jihadi groups, voluntary centers and mosques can help to develop health-oriented services in neighborhoods and increase people's access to needed services.

How was the people-friendly and mosque-oriented health plan approved?

The head of Basij organization of the medical community explained about how to approve and implement this plan: after the martyrdom of Sardar Gholamreza Soleimani, the commander of Basij Mustafafin organization, and the appointment of Hojjat-ul-Islam wal-Muslimin Tayeb as the new head of this organization, approaches have been presented to advance Basij programs, and programs related to the health of people and mosques are also followed in the same framework.

Pointing to the government's attention to the neighborhood-oriented approach in recent years, Zarezadeh said: The cooperation and synergy of Basij Mustafehin organization with the government can be the basis for more effective cooperation in serving the people. The current situation of the country also shows the necessity of moving towards planning based on specific geography and using people's capacities.
