Humiliation of Israel in Baku

While the Zionist regime is going through the most difficult period of isolation in the international community due to its crimes in Gaza, the head of this regime, Isaac Herzog, traveled to Azerbaijan to participate in the 7th SICA Summit with the aim of reducing Israel's isolation.

Ambassador Arjan-International Group: In this connection, there are several important points.

1- CICA, or the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, which was established in 1992, has 28 members, and according to Ambassador Arjan's report, only seven presidents and one king (Emir of Qatar) attended this meeting. The presence of the number of presidents or heads of states usually indicates the high importance of a meeting, and on October 1, 2026, the Secretary General of SICA requested a large number of country leaders to participate in the meeting of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Of course, the minimal participation of the heads of state in Baku reduced the political credibility of this meeting, but the Zionist regime sent Herzog to Baku, despite knowing the number of heads of state in advance, so that he might be able to get out of isolation.

2- In this summit, what happened to Netanyahu in New York was repeated and 13 diplomatic delegations from 28 member countries left the summit hall during the speech of the head of the Zionist regime.

The delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, headed by Kazem Gharibabadi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Legal and International Affairs, was one of the first delegations to leave the meeting hall along with 12 other delegations in protest of Israel's war crimes against the people of Gaza. Leaving the hall of international meetings by countries is a symbolic move in the diplomatic field and a kind of humiliating protest that discredits the country in question. The withdrawal of country representatives during Herzog's speech not only created an unpleasant image for the Zionist regime, but also increased the isolation of this regime at the international level, especially in Asia.

3- The Republic of Azerbaijan, as a member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, should have refused to invite Herzog to participate in the SICA summit due to the crimes of the Zionist regime. Of course, the protest of various countries, especially Turkey, Iran and Pakistan, which are close friends of Baku, is also against the action of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and it will reduce the prestige and international status of this country in the Islamic world. Today, the opposition to Israel's crimes in Gaza and the humanitarian disaster in Palestine is one of the most important areas of protest in Islamic countries, and Baku's foundation to justify these crimes will face serious opposition from the supporters of Palestine. It is worth noting that the Pew Research Center survey in the spring of 2026 showed that among the 36 countries surveyed, 67% have a negative view of Israel, and this statistic shows public hatred for that regime.

4- Iran's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs demanded the expulsion of Israel from the SICA meeting.

This request was timely and necessary and can turn the issue of expelling the Zionist regime into an Asian and global demand. The main goal of establishing SICA is to strengthen peace, security, stability and cooperation in the Asian continent, and today the most important source of insecurity and instability in Asia is the Zionist regime, and the time has come for this regime to be removed from the SICA mechanism. Although the realization of this is facing difficulties, it should be placed on the agenda of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and followed up at appropriate times.
