Urmia – West Azerbaijan Governor said the province's northern transit route will be fully operational within a year at the latest.
Urmia - The governor of West Azarbaijan said: the transit axis in the north of the province will be fully operational by the next year.
According to the report of Ambassador Arjan Reza Rahmani, in this context, referring to the decision of the government board, he said: The transit axis in the north of the province, which is the most sensitive geopolitical point of the country and is located at the intersection of the Jolfa Free Zone, the borders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia, Bazargan and Mako, Razi, Tamrchin and Kileh, will be fully operational within the next year at the latest.
He continued: This route is considered the most sensitive geopolitical point of the country, which is located at the important intersection of connecting to the Jolfa Free Zone, the borders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia, the border of Bazargan and Mako towards Turkey and Europe, the border of Razi as the most active passenger border of the country, the borders of Tamerchin and Kileh and the stretch of the ancient silk road from the east to the west of the country.
Referring to the very heavy volume of excavation, embankment, construction of technical buildings and bridge construction in this axis, he stated: this national plan, after tens of years of delay, has now been accepted by all the senior officials of the country as a national priority, because more than 90% of the traffic of the Mako Free Zone and Bazargan Customs and a large part of the passengers of the Razi border terminal pass through this axis.
The governor of West Azerbaijan emphasized the need to adhere to the project schedule and added: To speed up the work process, the schedule and control of the project is continuously monitored. Considering the high volume of traffic and life and financial risks for people, any delay in fulfilling financial obligations and paying contractors' claims is unacceptable, and all responsible institutions are obliged to fulfill their obligations to prevent slowness of work.
Explaining the road construction priorities of the province, Rahmani pointed out that this year the four main axes of the province, including the route leading to Bazargan, the Khoi axis to Marz Razi, the three-way road from Hyderabad to Piranshahr on the Urmia-Mahabad highway, and the Miandoab to Bukan axis with round-the-clock work, have the ability to be completed by the first half of next year. Urmia to Tabriz and Selmas to Tasuj are also active.
In order to speed up the execution of the plans, he ordered the contractors to use industrial technologies and prefabricated parts in the construction of large bridges in addition to activating multiple work fronts at the same time, so that the concrete pouring time of the deck is minimized.
In the end, the governor of West Azerbaijan welcomed the monitoring role of the national media and journalists and emphasized that the continuous follow-up of radio and television and clear demands from officials and contractors accelerates the process of infrastructure implementation and is in the interest of the people and the all-round development of the province and the country.
