Haaland’s Provocative Move Amid City’s Scandal
Erling Haaland and his father Alfie Haaland have bought two residential units in a luxury project being developed in the United Arab Emirates by the owners of Manchester City.
According to "Verzesh Se", this project, called Yas Residence by Ohana, is located in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The value of this real estate megaproject is estimated at 3.92 billion euros.
The investment comes as Manchester City, owned by Sheikh Mansour, who is the deputy chairman and prime minister and a member of the UAE royal family, has been found guilty by an independent commission of systematic financial irregularities over nine seasons and convicted on 114 charges, threatening the club with heavy sanctions.
The news was announced via a video released by the property developer, in which the 25-year-old attacker said: "Hello everyone. I am very happy to join the Manchester City project in collaboration with Ohana. "I just bought a house and so did my father, we will soon be neighbors."
Alfie Holland was present at this event and minutes after Pep Guardiola, the former head coach of Manchester City, who is now the ambassador of this brand, took the stage. The Spanish coach spoke for about half an hour and praised the host city, describing it as his "second home". In contrast, the Norwegian forward's father lamented his son's absence after admitting it was difficult to "talk after" the coach, saying: "Erling would have loved to be here."
This complex is located next to the Yas Canal on the artificial Yas Island and has facilities such as sports club, karting track, amphitheater, spa, health center, restaurants, rock climbing walls and skate parks. According to the report of the English newspaper Sun, two-bedroom villas cost about 935,000 euros and five-bedroom villas of 600 meters are about 2.8 million euros. The purchase of these properties allows the owners to receive a golden visa and stay in the country for ten years.
Egil Ostenstad, the financial advisor of Team Holland, refused to provide an explanation and said: "I have nothing to say about this." If you have seen the video and ceremony, there is no need to explain. I have already said everything that was necessary."
Erling Holland has extensive real estate holdings, including an apartment in the Sumro complex in Oslo, an apartment in his hometown of Brine and a luxury villa in Marbella. The British media have also reported on the recent purchase of a property in Cheshire on the outskirts of Manchester.
