According to Ambassador Arjan's report, citing Rashatoudi, the US Department of Energy declared a state of emergency due to the risk of lack of electricity supply in 13 states.

According to the official announcement of the US Department of Energy, this department has issued an emergency order to prevent blackouts in the mid-Atlantic region.

This order will be implemented from October 13 to 16 (21 to 24 Mehr) and its purpose is to increase electricity production and maintain the stability of the grid in the conditions of increased demand and the withdrawal of a number of electricity generation units from the circuit for autumn repairs.

According to this order, "PGM Interconnection" company, the operator of the region's electric network, is obliged to bring certain units into the circuit if needed to maintain the stability of the network. Also, this company is allowed to use backup power generation sources in emergency situations, as a last resort before announcing the highest level of emergency power alert or during it.

PGM network covers about 65 million people in 13 US states and the District of Columbia. The increase in electricity demand, planned repairs of power plants in the fall season, and planned stops in power transmission lines have been mentioned as pressure factors on this network.
