According to Ambassador Arjan, the Greater Tehran Intelligence Police announced the arrest of four accused of armed robbery from a villa. After stealing an Al-90 car, the thieves stole gold, Rolex watches and other expensive items, and part of the property was also discovered.
Colonel Asghar Khodayi, head of Greater Tehran Intelligence Police, said: The members of this gang first stole the car by deceiving the driver of an Al-90 car. One of the accused women, who knew the driver, took him out of the car on the pretext of buying water or juice and stole it while the car was on.
After that, two male members of the gang broke into a villa with the help of a stolen car and pre-planned and stole gold, expensive watches including Rolex and other valuable items.
According to the head of Greater Tehran Intelligence Police, the officers of the 1st Department of Tehran Intelligence Police identified and arrested all four suspects by conducting intelligence and police measures. The operation was carried out without shooting, but the robbers had used firearms and ammunition to threaten.
Referring to the discovery of part of the stolen property, Khodayi stated: A number of stolen Rolex watches were sold to a person who, after being identified by the police, cooperated with the officers and handed over the watches. This person claimed that he did not know that the property was stolen when he bought it.
He also said that one of the accused committed murder about 10 years ago and was released from prison after serving his sentence. However, investigations show that the members of this group had no history of committing theft in this way.
The Chief of Intelligence Police of Greater Tehran further warned about the methods of theft and asked the citizens not to leave the car on and unattended when getting out of the car and to make sure of their identity and the reason for their visit before opening the door to unknown people.
Khodayi also announced the continuation of police measures to deal with smuggling and collection of illegal weapons.
