Octane boosters are not a substitute for gasoline quality monitoring
Referring to the increase in public attention to the octane number of gasoline, the secretary of the Iranian Quality Management Association said: Fuel quality depends on a set of factors in the production, maintenance and distribution process and it should not be limited to just one index. According to Ambassador Arjan, Heydari, the secretary of the Iran Quality Management Association, on Radio Ekhtaz, referring to the importance of gasoline quality and its direct connection with people's daily lives, stated: "S is not just a mark or writing on the product, but it means that the product has specific and controllable characteristics; So that the consumer does not have to guess or do personal checks to ensure the quality.
Stating that the production of high-quality gasoline depends on various factors, he added: In order to obtain high-quality fuel, the technology of the refineries must be updated, the equipment must be properly maintained, and the product quality must be maintained at all stages of the supply and distribution chain.
The secretary of the Iranian Quality Management Association continued: Just as the quality of a food item is not measured by its production amount, the quality of gasoline is not only dependent on the production volume; Rather, it should be checked with what quality the fuel is produced and whether this quality has been maintained until it reaches the place and supplied to the cars or not.
Referring to the increase in public attention to the issue of gasoline octane number and the supply of supplements and octane boosters, Heydari clarified: fuel quality should not be limited to just one number or index. Gasoline quality is a system issue that must be considered from the origin of production to the stage of supply to the consumer.
Referring to the supply of various compounds and solvents called octane boosters in the market, he said: In a situation where all kinds of products are offered at different prices and in different packages, it is not possible to solve the problems related to fuel quality by just buying supplements or octane boosters.
The secretary of the Iran Quality Management Association emphasized: Gasoline quality should be continuously traceable and evaluated, and related information should be provided to people in a clear and understandable manner as much as possible. Also, the increase in fuel consumption should not lead to a decrease in the quality of the product, and the consumer should not have to buy additional products to ensure the quality of gasoline.
Heydari stated that the main responsibility of supplying standard fuel rests with the production, standardization and monitoring system, and said: the supplied fuel must be in accordance with the technical requirements, and this issue is achieved through the promotion of production technology, quality control in refineries and supervision of all distribution stages.
In the end, referring to the challenges of gasoline production and consumption in the country, he noted: due to the high volume of consumption and the necessity of continuous production, paying attention to fuel quality becomes more important. In order to achieve the desired quality, in addition to meeting the needs of the country, modern technologies should be used in refineries and quality control should be continued in all stages of production until supply to the consumer.
