Closure of Malekshahi Payame Noor University Ruled Out

Ilam – The head of Payame Noor University of Ilam said Malekshahi Payame Noor University has not been closed and that efforts to revive its course codes are ongoing.

In a conversation with Mehr reporter, Nader Shohani, referring to the organization policy of higher education institutions, stated: The higher education program is implemented with the aim of fair distribution of educational facilities and improving the quality of education, and in this framework, the units that have few students and limited faculty members are included in the process of integration.

Referring to the state of this university in Malekshahi, he added: This center currently has 199 students, and last year 170 people were studying there, and this statistic shows that the capacity of this unit is still active. For this reason, during the last year, necessary follow-ups have been done to maintain and strengthen it, and we are waiting for the decision of the Extension Council of the Ministry of Science.

Referring to the role of the representatives of the province in this regard, this official stated: the representatives of the province have also made continuous follow-ups and we hope that the Extension Council will agree to re-admit students to this center so that the students of the region can continue their studies in their place and do not have to worry about their future studies.

Referring to the evaluation indicators of these units, the president of Payam Noor Ilam University noted: Units that have less than 300 students and less than three faculty members are included in the merger list; But this does not mean their complete closure and their educational activity can continue.

In response to the concerns raised in cyberspace, he stated: Payam Noor Malekshahi University will not be closed and some of the published materials in this regard are not true. We ask students and their families to follow the news from official sources and not to worry about their academic future.

In the end, the president of Payam Noor University of Ilam emphasized: The follow-ups are continuing to revive the code of the fields of this center and we hope that with the cooperation of provincial and national officials, we will see the return of student admission to Payam Noor Malekshahi University so that the young people of this region can continue their studies near their residence.
