Need for a 10-hectare park in Zanjan's Zeytoon neighborhood

Zanjan – Deputy for Architecture and Urban Planning at the Zanjan Provincial Roads and Urban Development Department said construction of a 10-hectare central park in Zanjan's Zeytoon neighborhood is essential.

According to Ambassador Arjan Seyyed Mohammad Mahdiun, he said: Considering the population density of this area and the formation of nearby settlements, the construction of this park is one of the essential needs of the residents, which will be included in the implementation plans. Based on this, the projects are designed in the form of housing estates and residential complexes, and in the process of preparing plans, public and service per capita rates have been taken into consideration according to the regulations and approvals of the Supreme Council of Urban Planning and Architecture of Iran.

He added: In these plans, residential uses, including the spaces needed for educational, health, cultural, religious, sports, green space, parks and communal and recreational spaces, have been placed in accordance with the scale and population and have been placed in compliance with the relevant criteria.

Mahdiun stated that the purpose of this approach is to provide residents with access to the necessary services and prevent the formation of residential complexes without adequate facilities and services.

The Deputy Director of Architecture and Urban Development of the General Directorate of Roads and Urban Development of Zanjan province, referring to the responsibility of implementing and operating urban services, clarified: providing urban services is an interdepartmental responsibility. The Ministry of Roads and Urban Development and project implementers, within the framework of their duties and obligations, play a role in providing land, preparing and implementing related infrastructure and services, and the municipality also has responsibilities in the field of urban management, public spaces and urban services within the scope of its legal duties.

He continued: Provision and provision of specialized services such as education, health, sports and culture are also done with the participation and responsibility of relevant executive bodies and according to the type of service.

Emphasizing the importance of coordination between the responsible agencies, Mehdiun noted: In addition to predicting and complying with service quotas in the design phase, coordination among the responsible agencies for providing, constructing, equipping, and operating these services is also of fundamental importance; Because the quality of residence is not only dependent on the construction of the residential unit, but also depends on the provision of a set of urban services and facilities along with it.

Referring to the necessity of building a 10-hectare central park in Koi Zaytoun Zanjan, he said: Considering the population density of this area and the formation of nearby settlements, the construction of this park is one of the essential needs of the residents of Kah7, which will be included in the implementation plans.

The Deputy Director of Architecture and Urban Development of the General Directorate of Roads and Urban Development of Zanjan province added: The design of the central park of Koi Zaytoun in the part that was the responsibility of the General Directorate of Roads and Urban Development has been completed and the approval process of the plan has been completed, and the main issue at the moment is the inclusion of the project in the implementation plan and determining the timing for the start of operations.

Mahdiun continued: The construction of this park is in the executive plans, but to announce the exact time of the start of the operation, the matter must be followed up by the executive departments.

Referring to the prediction of various uses in the design of this complex, he stated: 7. Due to the size of this space and the significant population of the region, cultural, commercial, law enforcement, religious and sports uses have been taken into account in the design of the complex so that this urban space, in addition to playing a role as a green and recreational space, also meets some of the service and social needs of the surrounding residents.

The Deputy Director of Architecture and Urban Development of the General Department of Roads and Urban Development of Zanjan Province noted: The design of this complex has been done with the approach of creating a multi-purpose public space so that the citizens can enjoy the green space and recreational facilities, and also have the opportunity to use the services and uses they need.

Referring to the forecast of service infrastructure in Koi Zaytoun, he added: In the design, about 11 positions for the construction of a school have been predicted, and the use of all these capacities depends on the actual needs of the population and the implementation plans of the relevant institutions.

Mahdiun continued: Also, two locations for the construction of a mosque have been predicted in this area, and their construction operations are underway. For some other public services, including the police station, necessary spaces are also provided in the plan.
