Shab-e Siah Tallinn Festival Unveils Baltic Film Lineup
"This year's selection reflects the strength of Baltic co-productions and the growing role of our filmmakers in international cinema."
The Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF) has unveiled additional titles for its 30th edition, which runs from November 6-22, including its Baltic Film Competition.
According to Baltic Film Competition curator Edvinas Pukšta, international cooperation determines this year's selection. Five films are directed by non-Baltic filmmakers, with Baltic talent and expertise playing an important role in their production.
"This year's selection demonstrates the strength of Baltic co-productions and the growing contribution of our filmmakers to international cinema," says Pokeshta. Producers, actors, cinematographers and other Baltic cinema professionals are taking their experiences beyond the region and are increasingly involved in ambitious international projects.
