Hitting the Blues Is Getting Harder Than Before: Esteghlal's Shared Standout in Iran and Asia Thanks to Habib!

With respectable defensive numbers in both the Iran Pro League and the AFC Champions League Elite, Esteghlal now has a promising situation at the back, built on the form of Habib Farzabbasi.

According to "Varzesh Se" report, Esteghlal has the title of one of the best defensive lines in the Iranian Premier League and the Asian Elite League. However, other competitors have also recorded significant statistics in this field.

The blue players have conceded only two goals in the Iranian Premier League. Statistics that Tractor has also achieved so that the two teams are among the best defensive lines in the league. Esteghlal is in a good position in the Asian Elite League and along with teams like Al-Hilal, Al-Ain, Al-Shabaab, Al-Ahly and Al-Shamal, as well as Tractor, they are among the teams that have only conceded one goal from their opponents until the end of the second week of this competition.

One of the important factors in recording these statistics was the performance of Habib Far Abbasi in the goal of Esteghlal. The blue-clad goalkeeper played an important role in maintaining the superiority of his team in the difficult match against Al-Gharafa. In one of the most sensitive scenes of the match, after a mistake by Esteghlal's defense, he was in a one-on-one situation with the opponent's attacker and with a timely reaction, he sent his shot to the corner. This is in addition to two other reactions that he showed against the Qatari opponent.

Far Abbasi has also had an acceptable performance in the Iranian Premier League and has seen his goal opened only twice in eight matches. This statistic shows that Esteghlal is experiencing better conditions than some previous seasons, at least in terms of the performance of its main goalkeeper.

At the beginning of the season, Nader Ghobishavi was added to the team's technical staff by choosing Sohrab Bakhtiarizadeh as the goalkeeper coach of Esteghlal. His presence can be one of the effective factors in improving the conditions of Esteghlal goalkeepers. An issue that has become more visible with Far Abbasi's performances and defensive results in the domestic and Asian competitions. With Habib Farabbasi and the addition of Mohammad Khalifa in the second half of the season, Esteghlal has good conditions in terms of the number of goalkeeper options, and currently there is no need to recruit another goalkeeper.
