West Gilan on Alert for Flooding; Dredging of Rivers Is a Priority

At a meeting of the western Gilan crisis management headquarters in Astara, the Chief Crisis Management Officer and the Chief Inspector of Gilan Province stressed the need for executive agencies to prepare for the potential impacts of El Niño, fix infrastructure deficiencies, dredge rivers, and take preventive measures to reduce flood damage.

The Chief of Crisis Management and the Chief of Inspection of Gilan province, at the meeting of the crisis management headquarters of the western province in Astara, emphasized the need for executive bodies to be prepared to deal with the possible consequences of El Nino, fix infrastructural deficiencies, dredging rivers and implementing preventive measures to reduce the damages caused by floods.
