The animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is finally set to return in January and continue the story of the first year of Peter Parker's life.

The series has been renewed for a third season, giving series creator Jeff Trammell and the crew more time to work on Spider-Man's next adventures. In fact, the hardest part of the job is largely over. The first season began with the introduction of a different universe that takes inspiration from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and the first Spider-Man comics. In this story, instead of Tony Stark, Norman Osborn is Peter Parker's guide in his first battles with enemies like Scorpion and Doctor Octopus. Now that the story world is formed, new threats are coming and Disney also trusts this series, the creators can think about the distant future.

During the New York Comic-Con event, Collider Media's Maggie Levitt spoke with Jeff Trammell about the second season and the future of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, and asked him how far along the series is in planning as the second season approaches. As expected, the work on the third season has already started so that the gap between the seasons is not as long as the wait for this period. There were earlier reports about the confirmation of the fourth season. Trammell directly confirmed that work is underway on the next two seasons, though Marvel has yet to announce an official renewal of the show beyond season three. He said in this interview:

I don't know exactly what I'm allowed to say, and on the other hand, no one is stopping me; So I'd like to announce that we've already started work on seasons three and four of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

These comments indicate that the new version of Spider-Man will likely remain in the Marvel animated universe for a considerable time; Of course, provided that the audience continues to watch the series. The first season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man ended with plenty of clues and hints about what's to come, but if the season 2 poster has any clear message, it's none other than Venom's heavy presence.

After Spider-Man and Doctor Strange's battle with an alien that had passed through a gate opened by Norman Osborn's Monolith Project, part of the symbiote remained in their world. This event sets the stage for the appearance of Peter Parker's iconic black suit, as well as the introduction of the symbiote's future host, Eddie Brock. Spider-Man veteran Josh Keaton will voice Eddie Brock.

Despite the importance of Venom in the new season, the series will also deal with one of the biggest surprises of the final episode of the first season; It turns out that Richard, Peter's father, is still alive and behind bars, contrary to previous belief. Daredevil voiced by Charlie Cox is also among the returning characters. Along with these familiar faces, Gwen Stacy will be one of the most important new characters of the second season, who will help Spider-Man to deal with new threats in the form of Spider-Gwen.

Trammell confirmed that the creators will go straight to answering the remaining questions from the first season from the very beginning of the second season. Richard's fate, Lonnie Lincoln's future as the leader of Group 110, Harry Osborne's new company and other unresolved issues are among the issues that the story will address. The creator of the series also mentioned a few characters that he is most excited to show in the second season; Including Eddie Brock and Venom.

Jeff Trammell said about the characters that the audience will meet more in the second season:

I'm really excited for the audience to get to know Nico Minoru more this season. He's going to play a big role in season two, and I think people are going to really like the direction we're taking this character. I am a big fan of Eddie Brock. It was announced earlier that Josh Keaton is the voice of Eddie Brock, and I am eager for the audience to see what kind of performance he will give. In addition, Norman is also doing things that I am very excited to show.

The second season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man series will be broadcast on January 13 (22).
