Two tons of illegal forest wood seized in Nour

SARI – The Mazandaran Director General of Natural Resources and Watershed Management announced the discovery and seizure of shipments of illegal forest timber and firewood in the counties of Nour and Behshahr.

Sari- Director General of Natural Resources and Watershed Management of Mazandaran-Sari announced the discovery and seizure of illegal wood and firewood shipments in Noor and Behshahr cities.

In an interview with Mehr reporter, Ali Bagheri, referring to protective measures to deal with wood smuggling and protection from the forest areas of Mazandaran, stated: The forces of the Natural Resources Protection Unit in various cities of the province are taking the necessary measures to identify violations by intensifying the supervision and control of the centers related to the storage and movement of wood tools.

He added: In one of these operations, by the order of the General Prosecutor and Revolution of Chamestan, the forces of the Natural Resources and Watershed Protection Unit of Noor city along with the protection forces of the forest park and the agents of the police relief unit, during patrolling and raiding of logging workshops, succeeded in discovering 2 tons of illegal forest tools in a workshop located in Abbaskala village.

Director General of Natural Resources and Watershed of Mazandaran-Sari continued: The discovered cargo was seized and transferred to the parking lot of Noor City Natural Resources Department for legal procedures.

Bagheri also pointed to the identification of a truck carrying forest firewood in Behshahr city and said: The officers of the Natural Resources Protection Unit of this city, during the control of vehicles carrying wood tools in the area of the cellulose factory, identified a truck that was carrying five esters of forest firewood under the guise of garden cargo.

He stated: After the cargo was identified, the forest firewood was seized for the benefit of the government, and the truck carrying it was moved to the parking lot by the order of the Behshahr prosecutor.

Director General of Natural Resources and Watershed of Mazandaran-Sari, pointing to the importance of monitoring the transportation and storage of forest products, emphasized the continuation of protective measures to deal with violations related to natural resources.
