First Diesel Shipment to the United States Possible Within 2–3 Weeks - Novak
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Believes an Agreement Must Be Reached as Soon as Possible
Moscow, October 15. /TASS/. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters that the first deliveries of Russian diesel to the United States could take place at least in the next 2-3 weeks.
On the sidelines of the Russian Energy Week, he said: "In order to carry out the shipments, a contract must be signed and the fuel loaded, the vessel rented and sent to the consumer, which will take 2 to 3 weeks, so the agreement should probably be concluded as soon as possible."
Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, the leaders of Russia and the United States, had a phone call on October 9, during which they discussed, among other things, the supply of oil products. The Russian president said that Moscow has once again emphasized its readiness to supply oil and oil products to the American and world markets.
Novak previously told TASS that Moscow will lift its diesel export ban ahead of schedule and is ready to supply 300,000 tonnes of diesel in October, increasing volumes to 500,000 tonnes in November and 1 million tonnes in December. Monthly reserves can subsequently reach 3 million tons.
The Trump administration, in turn, has issued a general authorization that allows the supply of Russian diesel to the world market until April 7, 2027.
The Russian Energy Week (REW) International Forum will be held in Moscow from October 14 to 16, sponsored by the Government of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the Government of Moscow.
