Gasoline Sales Decline After Launch of New Fuel Card Scheme
The spokesperson for the national gas station operators' guild said that sales of gasoline have fallen in Tehran since the implementation of the scheme to register fuel cards at stations, and as a result, station commissions are being reviewed.
Reza Nawaz said about the decision of the Ministry of Oil to identify fuel cards at gas stations: There have been constant criticisms about how to use fuel cards at gas stations, and unfortunately, violations or negligence were sometimes attributed to station personnel.
The spokesperson of the country's fuel station owners association added: Since it was not clear who uses the station card and it was not possible to monitor it, finally the officials of the subsidiary companies of the Ministry of Oil decided to use a method to identify the fuel card of the stations.
Nawaz stated that the specialized opinions of this union have been obtained regarding the identification of gas stations' fuel cards, and stated that suggestions for improving the quality of providing services to people and reducing problems for fuel stations have been submitted to the officials of refining and distribution so that this plan can be implemented with the least problems.
The spokesman of the country's fuel station owners association said: The fuel card identification of fuel stations has been implemented in Tehran and we are currently receiving opinions, criticisms and suggestions from people, experts and owners of fuel stations to reflect and follow up on possible problems to the decision makers of the plan.
Nawaz emphasized: There is no doubt that if the problems of the plan are reduced and the duration of refueling is reduced to avoid queues, we can hope for the merits of the plan.
The spokesperson of the fuel station owners association said: With the implementation of this project, we have seen a decrease in sales of stations, the causes of which are being investigated, but since the royalties of the stations are analyzed and determined by the amount of sales, now with this reduction in Tehran or as a result of the implementation of plans in other provinces, the royalties should be revised again.
The spokesperson of the station owners said: One of the people's criticisms is the deduction of a thousand tomans for the allocation of code by the electronic payment company, and we are pursuing possible permits for such a withdrawal, as well as increasing the number of electronic payment companies in the stations and participating in this project in order to create competition and at least reduce this number meaningfully.
Nawaz pointed out that the refueling of motorcycles has been accompanied by problems with the implementation of this plan, which the authorities have promised to take necessary measures to solve.
