Confessions of Man Who Killed His 70-Year-Old Wife Over Suspected Infidelity

The man who killed his 70-year-old wife claimed in his latest confession that he himself had been the victim of his wife's infidelity.

This 80-year-old accused, who committed the murder of his wife a few days ago, claims that he saw the victim talking to a man on the street, but the woman denied the incident and finally, after a verbal conflict, the man strangled her and went to the police station 40 minutes later.

On Wednesday evening, an elderly man approached the police station and said that he had killed his wife. The officers accompanied the accused to his house and found the body.

After that, police officers in a short call informed the capital's homicide detective about the family crime, and a criminal investigation began in Tehran's Majidieh neighborhood. Initial investigations showed that the body had signs of suffocation and that he had been dead for about two hours.

When the inspector of Salar Sanatgar and the criminal investigation team arrived at the place, the old man claimed in his statement: "My wife and I were alone at home. "I thought my wife was cheating on me and I suspected her behavior."

This 80-year-old man continued: "Before the murder, there was a fight between us. I got angry and went crazy and strangled my wife with my hands. After the death of my wife, I had a guilty conscience. "First I called 110 and then I went to Majidieh police station and surrendered myself."

With this man's explicit confession, the old woman's body was taken to the forensic medicine for further examination. The suspect was also arrested and the investigation of him continued at the 10th Department of the Tehran Intelligence Police.

In his latest confession, in the continuation of the investigation, this accused told new details about his motivation and his life together with the victim. He said that this was his wife's second marriage with him and the victim was married before and had children from his first wife. The man explained that he had married this woman a few years ago and that he himself had retired and that they had no children.

The defendant explained in his new confession: "My wife's behavior was suspicious. A few days before the murder, I saw him talking to a man on the street. I didn't tell him anything and went home. When he came, I told him who he was, but he gave me a rude answer."

He added: "He was already teasing me and saying you are sick and skeptical. That day, we had a fight and he started screaming and yelling and I choked him. 40 minutes later, I went and introduced myself to the police."

The case of this family crime is still being processed in the third branch of Tehran's Criminal Affairs Prosecutor's Office by Salar Sanatgar, and the judicial authority has issued the necessary orders to clarify all aspects of the story. The police investigation continues to investigate the motive of the crime, the mental state of the accused and the truth of his claims, so that more aspects of the story can be clarified in the future.
