Record-breaking Barcelona want another record

Barça will repeat Real Madrid's record in 1968-69 season with 9 consecutive victories at the beginning of La Liga.

According to "Sports Three", Barcelona's extraordinary performance at the beginning of the season has made Hansi Flick's team break records one after another. The scoring efficiency of this team is amazing and it has scored 43 goals in these ten matches. And this is where a new record appears in the Champions League.

Barcelona has played 28 matches with Flick on the bench. They have scored a total of 84 goals in these games, which shows an average of three goals per match. This is the highest scoring ratio for any team that has played at least twenty matches in this competition since the current format was established in 1992-93.

Another record could fall this Saturday, though this time it's for back-to-back wins at the start of La Liga. This record is held by Real Madrid in the 1968-69 season. The Whites, then managed by Miguel Muñoz, won nine in a row before a goalless draw against Ponte Verde in Week 10. At the moment, Barcelona have won eight in a row, so if they win against Betis at the La Cartuja stadium on Saturday, they will equal that record.

On an individual level, Lamin Yamal is unstoppable. In the assist department, he has equaled Rafinha with 13 assists since the young player's first game in the Champions League in September 2023. Since then, both men have recorded the most assists and are ahead of Vinicius, Dembele, Ashraf and Ulysses.

With two assists against Galatasaray, Lamine has now managed to register two assists in eight matches under Flick's leadership. Half of them have been recorded in matches that have been held this season. Barcelona continues to break records.
