Mr. UK Foreign Secretary: Is Iran the Aggressor?!

How Can a Nation Defending Itself Against Two Nuclear Powers That Threaten Its Civilization With Annihilation Be Labeled an Aggressor?

Mr. (Edward) Miliband, you say that you had a conversation with Marco Rubio about ending "Iranian aggression". According to which legal, moral or humanitarian criteria do you consider Iran to be an aggressor?

The two nuclear powers attacked Iran twice in the middle of the negotiations, and during these attacks, they committed horrible war crimes:

- The bombing of an elementary school in Minab during the hours of classes, which killed dozens of children;

- Attacking a sports hall in Lamard, during the training of the girls' volleyball team;

- Firing at the Iranian frigate Dena in international waters, while returning from a naval parade hosted by India, which killed around 100 unarmed sailors;

- assassination of political leaders and scientists;

- Bombing of civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, universities, bridges, petrochemical complexes, fuel depots, pharmaceutical factories and water desalination facilities;

- Bombing of nuclear facilities under the safeguards of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

The US president openly threatened to destroy a civilization so that it would "never recover" when the option of a diplomatic solution was available.

And you call these actions "Iranian aggression"?

According to General Assembly Resolution 3314, the initiator of the use of force against the United Nations Charter is considered an aggressor. Iran did not initiate the attack. You know this; Your European counterparts know too.

You told your party that Britain's entry into the Iraq war was a mistake. That war was also justified by the false claim of the existence of weapons that basically did not exist externally. You should know this familiar scenario more than anyone else.

I challenge you to explain how a nation defending itself against two nuclear powers, which threaten to destroy its civilization, can be labeled an aggressor.

In the conversation with Rubio, did you also talk about ending the military aggression of the US and Israel against Iran? Or do you not have enough independence to ask such a question?
