Pakistan, Oman Call for Restraint and Return to Diplomacy; Stress Freedom of Navigation in Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab

Pakistani and Omani foreign ministers stressed the need for restraint and opposed any confrontation. They called on all sides to return to diplomacy and dialogue, and underscored continued joint efforts to achieve lasting peace in the region.

The Foreign Ministers of Pakistan and Oman, emphasizing the necessity of restraint and opposing any confrontation, demanded that all parties return to the path of diplomacy and dialogue and emphasized the continuation of joint efforts to achieve sustainable peace in the region.

According to Ambassador Arjan, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan emphasized the importance of dialogue and the return of all parties to diplomacy in a press conference with his Omani counterpart and called for restraint. Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar said today in Islamabad during a joint press conference with Badr al-Busaidi, the Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman, that we discussed the situation of the Strait of Hormuz and the Strait of Bab al-Mandab.

According to Ambassador Arjan, he said: Pakistan wants free transportation in the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab to ensure food and energy security for everyone in the region and other parts of the world.

Referring to the developments in Yemen and Saudi Arabia, Ishaq Dar added that we have examined the situation in Palestine and condemned the illegal construction of settlements in the occupied territories of Palestine.

Pakistan's foreign minister emphasized the need for restraint by all parties in the region and demanded a return to diplomacy.

He emphasized that Islamabad continues to play a role in helping peace in the region.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman also emphasized his country's position in supporting diplomacy and continuing efforts with other players in the region to achieve lasting peace, saying that Muscat supports diplomacy and interaction and opposes the escalation of tensions and confrontation.

Badr al-Busaidi said today in a statement with his Pakistani counterpart in Islamabad that both countries have direct contacts regarding regional developments and Oman praises Pakistan's efforts to mediate between Iran and the United States and help advance the negotiations.

He emphasized: "Confrontation is not an option and we are strongly against it, therefore Muscat believes in diplomacy and will continue its actions for peace."

After the 40-day war between the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran, the Islamabad Memorandum was signed with the mediation of Pakistan with the aim of stopping the conflicts and providing the basis for reaching a final agreement between Tehran and Washington. However, the process of implementing this memorandum was faced with the failures and reneges of the United States, and the country's repeated attacks on Iran, along with Washington's failure to fulfill its obligations, hindered the process of reaching the final agreement.

In the same framework, Tehran emphasized the necessity of America's adherence to the commitments contained in the Islamabad Memorandum and believes that the continuation of the diplomatic process and the achievement of a stable agreement requires Washington to put an end to actions contrary to the understandings.
