Solar power generation capacity in the country has reached 6,200 megawatts

Naka – Deputy Minister of Electricity and Energy at the Ministry of Energy said that the country's solar power generation capacity has reached approximately 6,200 megawatts, and efforts to expand solar power plant capacity in Mazandaran are ongoing

According to Mehr reporter, Mostafa Rajabi Mashhadi, on the sidelines of his visit to Mazandaran power industry projects on Thursday afternoon, pointed out the need for the power industry to prepare for the cold months of the year and stated: With the end of the hot season, supplying fuel to power plants and maintaining the stability of the power grid has been prioritized, and the necessary measures to manage possible energy restrictions are being implemented.

He stated that the gas production capacity of the country has decreased by about 230 million cubic meters per day due to the enemy's attack, and added: Efforts to restore about 100 million cubic meters of this capacity to the production cycle continue, and in this situation, gas consumption management and fuel supply for power plants become more important.

Referring to the measures taken in Mazandaran, the Deputy Director of Electricity and Energy of the Ministry of Energy stated: The capacity of fuel storage tanks of Neka power plant has increased and the further development program of these tanks is also on the agenda. Also, the repairs of the Caspian power plant will begin soon, and fuel storage operations are underway in this complex.

Referring to the national plans of the electricity industry to manage the upcoming situation, Rajabi Mashhadi said: 60 operational plans have been compiled at the country level, which include optimization of energy consumption, management of non-conventional consumption and control of high consumption among its axes to reduce the pressure on the electricity network.

He mentioned the development of renewable energies as one of the other ways to strengthen the power generation capacity and added: the country's solar power generation capacity has reached about 6,200 megawatts and the increase in the capacity of solar power plants in Mazandaran is also followed before the start of the cold season.

Speeding up the completion of Mazandaran power plant projects

The Deputy Minister of Electricity and Energy of the Ministry of Energy said about the new plans of the province's power plant: two gas units of the Neka power plant have entered into operation by recording new time records, one in 120 days and the other in less than 100 days.

He continued: the steam unit of Neka combined cycle power plant will also be ready to connect to the country's electricity grid by the summer of 1406 according to the plan. The project, the completion of which plays a role in strengthening the power generation capacity of the province.

Rajabi Mashhadi also announced plans to increase the capacity of small-scale power plants in Mazandaran and said: adding 64 megawatts of electricity production capacity in this sector is expected, which includes a significant share of the country's annual development plan for small-scale power plants.

He listed the development of electricity transmission and super distribution infrastructure as one of the other measures taken in the province and added: During the past months, four transmission and super distribution substations have entered the circuit using the external financing plan and have been connected to the electricity network.

The Deputy Minister of Electricity and Energy of the Ministry of Energy announced the preparations for the construction of the new Mahmoodabad power plant and said: The land required for the implementation of this project has been secured and the initial steps to advance the project are underway.

The necessity of managing electricity and gas consumption in the cold season

Emphasizing the role of public participation in sustainable energy supply, Rajabi Mashhadi noted: Saving electricity and gas consumption can help reduce pressure on the network in the cold months of the year.

He added: In addition to the residents of Mazandaran, tourists who travel to this province on holidays and weekends can also cooperate in the sustainable transition of the cold season and reliable supply of electricity and gas by managing energy consumption.
