Insufficient international support to cover the costs of Iran's hosting of refugees

Nader Yarahmadi, adviser to the Minister of Interior and head of the Center for Foreign Nationals and Immigrants Affairs, told the 77th session of the UNHCR Standing Committee in Geneva on Tuesday, 12 October 2026, that inadequate international support is a concern, stressing that reductions in funding must not shift responsibility onto host countries instead of being fairly shared.

"Nader Yarahamdi", advisor to the Minister of Interior and head of the Foreign Nationals and Immigrants Affairs Center of the Ministry of Interior, on Tuesday 21 October 1405, at the 77th meeting of the Executive Committee of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Geneva, criticized the inadequacy of international support and emphasized that the reduction of financial resources should not lead to the transfer of the burden of responsibilities to the host countries, instead of its fair distribution.
