Tehran Air Pollution Forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday
Tehran's Meteorological Department has warned of rising air pollutants, particularly fine particulate matter smaller than 2.5 microns, over the next two days (October 13 and 14).
Tehran General Directorate of Meteorology warned against the increase of atmospheric pollutants, especially suspended particles smaller than 2.5 microns, in the next two days (October 21 and 22) in the province.
According to Ambassador Arjan, the Meteorological Department of Tehran province has issued a yellow level warning, referring to the relative stability of the atmosphere and the absence of significant wind during the night and the beginning of the day in high-traffic urban areas: Tuesday to Wednesday (October 21 to 22), an increase in atmospheric pollutants, especially suspended particles smaller than 2.5 microns, is expected in the central and southern areas of Tehran.
Ambassador Arjan wrote in a news: Under these conditions, the air quality will decrease to an unhealthy level for sensitive groups, and if the sources of atmospheric pollutants are not controlled, sometimes unhealthy air for all groups in the high-traffic areas of the central and southern regions of Tehran is not far from expected.
According to the recommendation of the General Department of Meteorology of Tehran province, it should be considered to reduce unnecessary traffic, especially for children, the elderly, and people with heart and respiratory diseases in high-traffic urban areas during the peak hours of pollutant accumulation, and to use the public transport fleet as much as possible.
A yellow level warning means that an atmospheric phenomenon will occur that may cause disruptions in travel and daily activities. This warning is issued for people's awareness so that they can be prepared to face an atmospheric phenomenon that is slightly more intense than usual. On the other hand, the authorities are informed about these warnings so that they can take measures if necessary.
