Watch: What Counts as an Act of Charity?
Hojjatoleslam Hossein Ansarian, a Quran commentator, stresses that people should not wait for ideal conditions to do good. He says kindness is possible even by giving half a date or doing simple tasks such as sweeping the mosque and cleaning its restrooms and those of the Hosseiniyeh, since no opportunity for service and charity should be missed.
Hojjat-ul-Islam Hossein Ansarian, the commentator of the Holy Quran, emphasizing that one should not wait for the availability of facilities to do a good deed, says: it is possible to do good even by donating half of a date or doing simple tasks such as sweeping the mosque and cleaning the toilets of the mosque and Hosseiniyeh; Because no opportunity for service and charity should be missed.
Referring to the importance of doing good deeds in life, Hojjat-ul-Islam Hossein Ansarian, the commentator of the Holy Quran, stated: In religious traditions, feeding the people is emphasized; Even if a person does not have the ability to prepare a date, he can walk in this direction by donating half of it, so that the opportunity of charity is not lost.
He stated that doing good deeds should not be dependent on having wealth and physical strength, and added: Man should not deprive himself from doing good deeds due to lack of financial resources or physical weakness. Because many good deeds can be done with little resources.
This commentator of the Holy Quran continued: Good work is not always limited to large financial donations, and sometimes simple actions, such as sweeping the mosque or washing the toilets of the mosque and Hussainiyya, can also be an example of charity.
Emphasizing the importance of everyone's participation in doing good deeds, Ansarian noted: The Holy Prophet (PBUH), the Tahirin Imams (PBUH) and the Almighty Lord want that all the people of faith, whenever there is an opportunity to do a good deed, do their best to fulfill it.
