Handicrafts Are a Symbol of a Society's Authority and Authenticity

The Director-General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Fars Province, on the sidelines of a visit to the 'Third National Iranian Vest Festival' and the 'Third Ethnic Embroidery Workshop,' stressed the role of handicrafts in preserving national identity and announced the start of Shiraz Tourism Week.

The Director General of Fars Cultural Heritage stated:

The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Fars province, on the sidelines of visiting the "Third Iranian Vest National Event" and the "Third Ethnic Needlework Workshop", while emphasizing the place of handicrafts in preserving the national identity, announced the beginning of Shiraz Tourism Week.

According to the report of Aria Heritage reporter, Behzad Moridi today, on October 21, 1405, took a deep look at the nature of art and said: When we talk about Iranian vests and ethnic needlework, we are actually talking about Iranian identity and our material culture. Handmade art is one of the main pillars of material culture, which has been a symbol of the authority and authenticity of societies throughout history.

Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Fars Province, referring to the challenges of globalization and cultural assimilation, added: In a world where efforts are underway for cultural assimilation, preserving cultural differences and the diversity of artistic roots is the greatest way of resistance to preserve national identity. We should not allow the management of culture to move towards equalizing and eliminating the valuable differences of different Iranian roots.

Explaining his point of view about the cultural diversity of Iran, a student said: Although each region of Iran has its own characteristics, language and dialects, all these diversities are gathered in a single container called "Iran". Just as our different languages (Persian, Kurdish, Turkish, Balochi, etc.) are all in the body of a single nation, the same colors, designs and needlework patterns from different regions of the country ultimately represent a common and unified Iranian visual language.

He also noted that holding this event in the form of Mehr Shiraz tourism event (from 5 to 25 October) is an important step to introduce the cultural capacities of Fars province to domestic and foreign tourists.

The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Fars Province emphasized that these workshops and events provide a platform for people to enjoy the ancient heritage and connect different generations with authentic Iranian art.
