Exclusive: J.K. Neil Blair, Rowling's representative, has claimed that the protest against transgender rights at the performance of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has put people at risk.

During an event to celebrate the shortened version of the West End stage play at the Palace Theater on Thursday night, a number of protesters stormed the red carpet.

Wearing masks to hide their identities, the men lay on the carpet before being removed by security forces. One of them was wearing a shirt that read: "Money Kills Rowling." Related News J.K. "We respect peaceful activism and the right to express different views," Blair said in a statement to Deadline. But these rights must be exercised without endangering others, including audience members, performers and theater staff, as we saw yesterday evening during the protests outside London's Palace Theater ahead of the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child gala performance.

Most importantly, we want to continue the magic of Harry Potter for the wonderful fans who have supported and embraced this world for so many years. Every fan deserves to enjoy the magic of Harry Potter in a respectful and safe environment, and we remain committed to keeping live theater an enjoyable and safe experience for everyone."

The new version of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has been reduced from a five-hour show that runs in two parts to a three-hour run.
