Sardar Bagherzadeh: Defense jurisprudence must create objective deterrence
Qom - The head of the missing persons search committee of the Armed Forces General Staff emphasized the necessity of developing the jurisprudential foundations of defense and said: Religious rules should create objective deterrence against threats in the Islamic governance system.
According to Mehr reporter, Sardar Seyyed Mohammad Baqerzadeh at noon on Thursday at the closing ceremony of the international jurisprudence conference on the law of war governance, which was held at the Mujtahid Mohammadieh Higher Education Complex, stressed the need to explain the religious and scientific foundations of defense and stated: The Islamic system, which was formed with the sacrifices of the Iranian nation, needs jurisprudential and legal frameworks to protect its achievements and deal with threats, which, in addition to explaining the theoretical foundations, also have deterrent effects in the field of practice. have
He added: The jurisprudential explanation of defense issues is not just a theoretical and scientific discussion, but it is related to protecting the right, establishing justice, and providing the basis for a principled confrontation with aggression and oppression, and it can be a basis for decision-making in the field of defense governance.
The Chairman of the Search Committee for the Missing Persons of the General Staff of the Armed Forces pointed out the necessity of knowing the intellectual foundations of the currents claiming to defend Islam and stated: In the conditions of political and military confrontations, it is very important to recognize the nature of ideas and evaluate the claims made, and it should be clear which currents are moving in the direction of defending Islam and the ideals of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Ahl al-Bayt (AS).
Referring to the religious roots of the Islamic Revolution, Baqerzadeh continued: Imam Khomeini's movement in 1342 was the starting point of the revolutionary movement of the Iranian people, and Ashura culture and Hosseini's thought are important supports of this movement, therefore, knowing the religious and historical links of the revolution with the culture of Jihad is important in understanding the foundations of Islamic defense.
Jihad must be based on rational and religious foundations
Emphasizing that facing enmity and hostile behavior should be done in accordance with the conditions and based on rational and Shariah criteria, he said: Dealing with harassment and enmity can start with less stressful solutions such as symptoms and cutting off relations and if necessary, it can reach more serious stages, therefore, Jihad should be considered in its place and taking into account religious conditions and standards.
Baqerzadeh clarified: In the thought of Imam Khomeini (RA), Jihad is considered in connection with human evolution, conveying the message of monotheism, spreading the worship of God, and protecting the Islamic system, and realizing the rule of law and justice, confronting cruelty and crime, expanding security, and providing the basis for freedom and human dignity are also among the goals raised in this framework.
Comparing dealing with cruelty to controlling fire, he added: Just as neglecting a fire can cause it to spread to other areas, inaction against cruelty and aggression may also increase the scope of damages, so it is important to prevent the continuation of cruel behaviors to prevent the spread of damages.
The head of the missing persons search committee of the Armed Forces General Staff, pointing to the need for defense decisions to have scientific and jurisprudential support, said: the rulings and decisions related to war in the governance system should be formulated based on clear theoretical foundations and scientific studies so that the forces present in the field of action also have the necessary intellectual and religious support.
Defense preparedness prevents conflict
Bagherzadeh considered military preparedness as one of the important prerequisites for Jihad and stated: Strengthening the defense capability and having deterrence capacity can make the enemy aware of the consequences of aggression and prevent the formation of conflict.
Emphasizing the necessity of an accurate assessment of the threat situation, he said: the end of a stage of confrontation does not necessarily mean the complete removal of the danger, and specific criteria must be considered to recognize the end of the threat, because the possibility of repeated aggression by the enemy must also be taken into account in defense calculations.
The head of the missing persons search committee of the Armed Forces General Staff noted: The formulation of jurisprudential and scientific foundations of defense can play an effective role in the governance system when it leads to coherent rulings that are appropriate to the real conditions and provides the possibility of dealing with threats in a principled way.
Referring to the experience of dealing with ISIS in Iraq, he added: The fatwa of religious authority at that time played an important role in mobilizing forces and confronting this trend, and examining the dimensions of this experience can help to better understand religious capacities in critical situations and take advantage of the strengths of past experiences.
Bagherzadeh emphasized: The link between religious foundations, knowledge of field conditions and decision-making in the field of defense is one of the important issues that must be considered in the jurisprudential examination of war governance in order to establish a clear connection between the theoretical principles and the practical requirements of defense.
Beit Imam Shahid had a spiritual position beyond the administrative function
In another part of his speech, referring to the attack on the martyred Imam's house, he stated: This place cannot be considered merely an administrative or political center, because it was a place where believers, Quran reciters, Islamic scholars and religious activists were present, and it had a spiritual place in the promotion of Islamic teachings and Husseini culture.
The head of the missing persons search committee of the General Staff of the Armed Forces added: The presence of personalities and international delegations from different countries in this center showed part of its capacity for communication between different nations and groups, and activities related to the Quran and strengthening the unity of the Islamic world were also among its functions.
Emphasizing that the evaluation of such centers should go beyond their appearance and administrative functions, Bagherzadeh stated: The role of religious and spiritual centers in promoting Islamic teachings and creating a context for communication between nations is one of the dimensions that should be taken into account in recognizing the importance of these collections.
Referring to the capacities of the Islamic society to overcome crises, he said: Islam does not face an inherent deadlock when faced with economic, political, military and social challenges, and religious and social capacities can be used to deal with difficulties.
The head of the missing persons search committee of the General Staff of the Armed Forces considered the presence of people on the scene as one of the important capacities of the Islamic society and noted: People's participation in various fields can play a role in maintaining the social cohesion and stability of the country, and this capacity, along with religious foundations and defense power, is one of the important components of facing difficult situations.
