Alfa Romeo is preparing to enter a new chapter in its history. To welcome this season, the company has unveiled an attractive concept at the 2026 Paris Motor Show. This concept, which is called Alfa Romeo Cuorerosso, has an eye-catching design and, contrary to expectations, uses a gasoline engine.

Alfa Romeo introduces this car as a statement for its future direction. This path includes products with different types of engines. According to the company, the architecture of the Cuorerosso concept is compatible with hybrid, plug-in hybrid or even all-electric engines.

Some of the early images and teasers from Corre Rosso had given the impression that Alfa Romeo was preparing a two-door sports car. However, the introduced concept shows that we are dealing with a four-door, four-seater performance car. Although the concept of the Russo grill has a very aggressive appearance, its size is not very large. The body length of this car is almost 3 times that of Lexus IS or Tesla model. If we want to go into details, we must say that this concept has a length, width and height of 4.7, 2 and 1.3 meters respectively. These numbers suggest that the Correo Rosso looks more like a low-slung sports sedan than a big, heavy grand tourer. Alfa Romeo emphasizes that despite the roomy coupe-like shape, two normal-sized adults can comfortably fit in the back row.

In a situation where many concepts are introduced with an electric drive, Alfa Romeo has decided to develop the Corre Rosso concept with a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine. This engine was previously used in Julia and Stelvio models and is considered one of the most important elements of the identity of Alfa Romeo performance products. There is no word about the output of this engine in the Russo furnace; Alfa Romeo has only mentioned that the use of electric technologies can increase the power of this car beyond the level of current performance products. It is possible that the production version of this car or other sports models of the company will provide more power and better performance with the help of one or more electric motors.

If this prediction turns out to be true, the hybrid engine will provide the possibility of using the advanced four-wheel drive system. In addition to increasing power, such a feature can help to distribute torque better and improve grip in different driving conditions. Of course, Alfa Romeo has not yet explained the exact structure of the power transmission system or the possible specifications of the electric motors.

The Alfa Romeo Corre Rosso concept was designed by Alejandro Masonero. The interesting thing is that the designers have created the initial version without details such as wheels, glasses and even the traditional grille of the company. The purpose of this work is to determine the overall proportions of the car and the main lines of the body in the best possible way before going into the details. The result is a car with simple surfaces and calculated lines, in which the overall form of the body plays the main role.

In the Alfa Romeo Cuorerosso concept, the windows are flush with the body and there are no unnecessary protrusions. Also, the designers have distanced themselves as much as possible from the glossy black decorations that are seen in many new cars these days. This approach made the appearance of the Russo grill more integrated and the viewer's attention was drawn to the body shape.

At the front, the ever-present triangular headlights are flanked by Alfa Romeo's iconic grille. This element has been redesigned and has a simpler structure like the company logo. The side view of Corre Rosso with its elongated hood, low height and low roofline, well displays the character of a sports car. In the rear view, the situation is even better, because the design of the car has become more aggressive and attractive.

The rear fenders are very swollen and prominent, and the body around the wheels has a muscular stance. This part of the design creates certain visual similarities with the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale; A car that, due to its body shape and special proportions, is considered one of the leading examples of the company's sports design.

Alfa Romeo Corre Rosso has advanced aerodynamics, so that its drag coefficient is 0.28; This figure indicates that the designers have paid special attention to the aerodynamic issues in addition to the attractive appearance. For comparison, some modern electric cars have a similar drag coefficient.

The interior design of the Alfa Romeo Corre Rosso Goi concept belongs to the next decades. Despite this, an attempt has been made to establish a balance between new technologies and the real needs of the driver. In this regard, the combination of digital controls has been used along with physical buttons to facilitate access to some facilities.

As you can see in the pictures, the main display of the information and entertainment system is integrated in the central console. In this concept, the display in front of the driver is known as "dynamic telescope", because it changes the way information is displayed according to the driving mode. The three available driving modes are Cruise, Sport and Quadrifoglio.

In other parts of the cabin, massive and sculptural structures surround the seats and the central part of the interior. Designers have tried to harmonize the components of the cabin with the shape of the human body and at the same time convey the feeling of a sports car. The red color gradually gives way to darker colors in parts of the interior. Alfa Romeo says this color combination is designed to evoke the heartbeat; A metaphor that matches the emotional and sporty personality of this brand. It is not bad to know that Corre Rosso means red heart in Italian. Therefore, the use of red color throughout the body and interior actually refers to the name of the car.

The possibility of producing a version similar to the Cuorerosso concept seems very low. Such models are usually developed to show the direction of future product design and technology, and some of their features may be used in production vehicles. In any case, with its new concept, Alfa Romeo has somehow stated that the company's future will not be limited to SUVs or all-electric cars. The Italian automaker still has a special place for six-cylinder engines and performance cars, although electrification is likely to play a bigger role in increasing power and improving performance.
