Filming has officially begun on The Housemaid's Secret, the sequel to the hit movie The Housemaid, directed by Paul Feig.

With the return of Sidney Sweeney in the main role and the presence of new actors including Kirsten Dunst and Paul Anthony Kelly, this film is going to bring a new story to the cinema. The published images from behind the scenes show that the production of the film has begun in Hoboken, New Jersey, USA. According to the schedule, this work will be released on December 17, 2027 (December 26, 1406).

The story of the new film is based on the second novel of the best-selling series by Frida McFadden and follows the adventures of Millie Calloway, the main character of the first part. Millie, who has a complicated past, once again accepts a job as a domestic servant; But this time he enters a house that hides dark secrets.

In the new story, Millie works for a woman who is not allowed to see her. The mysterious conditions of the house and the existence of a closed door that hides an important truth behind it gradually raise his doubts. He tries to understand the reality of this family's life, but he soon realizes that this job may lead him into a dangerous situation.

Sydney Sweeney reprises her role as Millie Calloway, and Michele Morone returns as Enzo, a familiar character from the first episode. Kirsten Dunst as Wendy Garrick and Paul Anthony Kelly as Douglas Garrick have joined the cast. Brittany Snow as Marybeth and Steven Collin as Brock are other actors of this project.

The return of Paul Feig as a director is one of the important points of the production of this sequel. Rebecca Sonnenschein is once again in charge of writing the screenplay and adapting Frida McFadden's novel for the screen. In addition to acting, Sidney Sweeney is involved in film production through his production company.

The first episode of The Housemaid, which was released in 2025, met with a significant audience response and, according to film media reports, it grossed nearly $400 million worldwide. The film's commercial success paved the way for a sequel, and Lionsgate is now hoping to turn the story into a feature film series.

One of the important differences of the new episode is its focus on a new family and different secrets. Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Skelnar, who had important roles in the first film, are not in the main cast of the sequel; Because the new story focuses on the life of Millie and the Garrick family.

Due to the success of the first part and the presence of well-known actors, The Housemaid's Secret is considered one of the interesting trailers of 2027. Now it remains to be seen how Paul Feig portrays the suspenseful atmosphere of Frida McFadden's second novel and whether this sequel can repeat the commercial success of the first part or not.
