The head of the Iranian Statistics Center announced that the preliminary results of the 1405 population and housing census will be published on the first of March and additional information will be available quarterly.
Ambassador of Arjan-Economic Group: Gholamreza Godarzi, head of the Iranian Statistical Center, referring to the implementation of the general population and housing census based on the registration method, said: the implementation of this plan has created a great transformation in the country's statistical system and has provided the basis for data sharing between different institutions.
Appreciating the cooperation of the executive agencies with the Statistics Center of Iran, he added: Most of the agencies have cooperated in this field and provided their information to the Statistics Center. Also, training classes are being held with the participation of young people from all over the country.
The head of the Iranian Statistics Center emphasized the necessity of institutionalizing this method for the coming years and stated: The goal is to move away from 10-year censuses and move towards censuses in shorter time periods. The Statistics Center is ready to update the information in short-term periods so that the hands of the decision-makers are more open for planning and the decisions do not rely solely on the statistics of 2015.
Referring to the cooperation of the country's program and budget organization in making the statistical system smarter, Guderzi said: One of the projects in this area is the general population and housing census based on the registration method. The president also issued orders in this field two years ago, and during this time, good steps have been taken with the cooperation of institutions such as the Civil Registration Organization, the Ministry of Interior, and the Post Company.
Stating that the purpose of these actions is to create a transformation in the country's statistical system, he added: Following the implementation of this plan, we are looking for the production of more up-to-date and more useful statistics so that a large-scale transformation in the country's statistical system takes place. The registration-based census will be the biggest statistical project of the country in 1406.
The head of the Iranian Statistical Center also announced that the preparation of provincial statistics is also included in the center's plans.
Referring to the cost savings of the registration-based census, Guderzi said: The traditional census imposed a lot of costs on the country, but with the implementation of the new method, more than 90% of the costs have been saved.
He considered the improvement of the country's administrative registrations as one of the other achievements of this plan and added: the verification of information and the necessary processes to complete the data are among the measures that have been taken in this direction, and this issue shows the importance of the transformation in the statistical system.
The head of the Iranian Statistics Center also explained the reason for the late notification about this project: due to the nature of the registration-based census, in the first stage, the relevant institutions were prioritized, and after that, the process of entering the popular stage began.
Regarding the way of collecting information in this census, Godarzi said: Administrative data has been received from various ministries and systems and provided to the Iranian Statistics Center. This information has provided the basis for the formation of statistical records. The civil registration organization and the real estate and accommodation system are important devices and sources of information in the implementation of this plan.
Stating that the purpose of the census is to determine the distribution and concentration of the population in different geographical areas, he emphasized: to obtain accurate statistics, one should wait until the end of the census process. The preliminary results will be announced in March and full information about the results will be done in 1406.
The head of Iran's Statistics Center announced the start of online and offline operation of this project on 25 Mehr and said: At this stage, SMS will be sent to a part of the society. People should be careful of fake text messages; Because the messages related to this process direct people to the "My Government" system.
Gooderzi continued: The target community of this stage is people whose information is incomplete or whose information needs to be checked for verification purposes. This process has continued until now and has a time limit. According to the relevant resolution, the public will be notified.
Referring to the next stage of the plan's implementation, he said: The next operation will begin on November 2 across the country and will be carried out in a combined manner. At this stage, while using registered information, surveys are also carried out at the country level.
The head of the Iranian Statistics Center added: In every province, a text message will be sent to the people whose homes the referrals are sent to, in order to prevent the activities of profit-seekers. Of course, a part of the people will not be addressed; Because their information is specific and accurate.
The head of the Iranian Statistics Center announced the start of the new phase of the general census until October 15. In this plan, which is carried out with the aim of completing the registration data, SMS will be sent to the selected households so that the information verification process is carried out in a targeted manner.
