The NFL is expected to suspend Los Angeles Rams left tackle Alric Jackson for two games after he punched Buffalo Bills running back Bradley Chubb following Monday night's shooting and a potential Super Bowl preview.

The footage of Jackson's controversy is undeniable, and the consequences are completely self-inflicted. Childish viewing Monday night saw Jackson step into midfield, lose his cool, and throw a knuckle-baring fist at Chubb. Jackson is expected to appeal the suspension.

"After the game, while the players were shaking hands and exchanging jerseys, Jackson struck Buffalo quarterback Bradley Chubb in the face after a brief scuffle, in violation of Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1, which applies to ``any act contrary to the general principles of sportsmanship,''" the official suspension statement read in part.

Chubb, to his credit, took the high road and kept his cool, allowing his Buffalo teammates to pull him back, allowing Jackson to bury himself on national television. He understood what Jackson couldn't: the cameras worked and the bill was always due.

Chubb is a smart man. Jackson, not so much

With Alaric Jackson, poor judgment is more of a pattern than an occurrence.

Just four months ago, in June 2026, Jackson was arrested on domestic violence charges in Southern California.

While prosecutors sidestepped formal criminal charges in favor of a pretrial diversion hearing, the incident remains the subject of an ongoing NFL review.

In 2024, the league suspended Jackson for two games under its personal conduct policy after he recorded intimate encounters on his phone without consent, an incident that later led to a civil lawsuit.

At some point, the headache overshadows the talent. Rams coach Sean McVay preaches accountability and culture, but his starting tackle continues to exhibit remarkable volatility.

The Rams sit 2-3 in a tight NFC matchup and desperately need consistency to protect Matthew Stafford's blind spot. Jackson will be out when his team needs him the most.
