Three years later, his value has reached 40 million euros and he has attracted the attention of the biggest clubs and the most famous coaches, including Hansi Flick.

On September 1, 2023, and in the last moments of transfers, Barcelona officially announced the transfer of Al-Zelzouli to Real Betis for 7.5 million euros. In this contract, the following conditions were considered: "Barcelona club reserves the right to buy back the player as well as 50% of the possible future sale amount."

However, this is no longer the case. The story goes back to the sale of another striker named Vitor Roque to Palmeiras in February 2025. This Brazilian striker was on loan at Betis until the end of the season, and this Andalusian club had to agree to this transfer.

The agreement that was reached for the transfer of Roque with a fixed amount of 25 million euros plus 5 million euros in variable bonuses was that Barcelona would give Betis 30% of the possible future sales rights it had. Therefore, currently Barcelona will receive only 20% of the possible sale price of this player, who has a contract with the club until June 30, 2029, and Betis may decide to sell him.

In addition, the player's right to buy back expired in the summer of 2025, as the validity period was set at two seasons. In this way, the only remaining option for Barcelona is to wait for the sale of 10 million euros before the end of Al-Zelzouli's contract with Betis in order to receive 20% of the transfer fee.

Last summer, the possibility of Al-Zelzouli's return to Barcelona was seriously discussed, but in the end, the club decided to hire Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United. After being promoted from Barcelona's second team, Al-Zalzouli played a total of 14 games with the club's senior team shirt. He scored a goal against Osasuna at El Sadar Stadium in a 2-2 draw between the two teams. Before moving to Betis, he played on loan for Osasuna and scored six goals in 34 matches.

Al-Zelzouli has scored 32 goals in 134 matches since joining Betis and will be one of the most important threats for Barcelona and Hansi Flick in Saturday's match at La Cartuja Stadium.
