Demand for Energy Price Differential Adds New Pressure on Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Industries

The head of the Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Chamber of Commerce criticized demands for energy price differentials from past periods and called for a review of how these charges are calculated and collected, to avoid imposing unforeseen costs on production units.

According to the report of Arjan Ambassador of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, Shahram Zare, the head of the Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture of the province, on Sunday, in the meeting of the Industry and Mining Commission of this chamber, referring to the increase in energy supply costs for industrial units, stated: the increase in electricity and gas costs has put considerable pressure on manufacturing companies, and decisions about these costs should be made taking into account the economic conditions and the realities of the industries.

Claiming past costs after selling the product

Criticizing the demand for the energy price difference related to the past periods, Zare added: When the manufactured products have been supplied and the transactions have been completed, the demand for new amounts for energy costs after the passage of time can create new financial problems for industrial units.

He emphasized: It is necessary to examine the legal basis of these demands and the way they are implemented in detail, so that it is clear what regulations and approvals are used to receive the energy price difference compensation.

The head of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Chamber of Commerce pointed out the necessity of reviewing the approvals related to the energy price and stated: Determining the legal framework for calculating and receiving these amounts provides the basis for pursuing the issue through legal channels and making clear decisions.

Unforeseen costs and the challenge of maintaining production

Referring to the financial limitations of industrial units, Zare said: In the current situation, manufacturing companies are facing many difficulties in providing current expenses, maintaining employment and continuity of activity, and the imposition of unforeseen expenses can affect their financial ability.

Emphasizing the need to support production, he added: In reviewing and implementing regulations related to energy costs, the economic conditions of the country and the financial capacity of industries should be taken into consideration so that the decisions taken do not put additional pressure on producers.

Follow up on industry problems at the national level

The head of Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari also informed about the planning to raise issues and problems of the industry sector in a meeting with the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade.

Zare pointed out: The issues raised in the Industry and Mining Commission should be documented and presented for follow-up at the national level in order to provide the basis for expert review and making effective decisions to solve the problems of industrial units.

Examining the legal basis for the demand for energy price difference, clarifying the method of calculating these costs and paying attention to their financial effects on production companies are among the axes that can contribute to reducing uncertainty and making production costs more predictable.
