According to the reporter of Iran's Ambassador Arjan (Ambassador Arjan), the book "Adaptation in short film, from thematic to structural aspects" written by Alireza Bakhtian and Ramtin Shahbazi was published by the Iranian Youth Cinema Association. This book, which is a structural and thematic analysis of the award-winning short films in the Tehran Short Film Festival, has been printed in 550 issues and 118 pages.
The publisher has mentioned in the introduction of the back cover of this book: "What are the challenges of adaptation in a short film? In this book, the authors have tried to answer this question. The influential strain of the answer to this question can be seen in the common methods and approaches used in different levels of validity of the works. Despite the time limitations of the short film, the cinematographer should look at the adaptation as a strategic measure and pay attention to the adaptation from the beginning of the narrative to its conclusion. The mind of the author of the short film in adapting from various texts should not be limited only to the transformation of a foundation story (diegetic) into a mimetic sequence (mimetic) and consider the realization of this transformation as a sufficient condition. It is obvious that the most important achievement of such an approach is to avoid slackness and repetition in the narrative components, including the action of time, function, symbolization, discourse and such things, and the creators of other works are only limited to internalization, that too. under the pretext of the short film's time capacity, and finally, the attachment of the source work will not be for the audience to understand the narrative."
It should be mentioned that this book is going to be presented for the first time in the book market of the association in the 43rd short film festival of Tehran, which will be held from 25th to 30th of Mehr 1405 at the Mellat cinema campus to those interested in books and the subject of adaptation.
This book is a structural and thematic analysis of the award-winning short films in the Tehran Short Film Festival.
