Mohammad Khatami: Chinese President Told Me to Drop the Nuclear Project in Isfahan

Seyed Mohammad Khatami, commenting on the Chinese president's response to Iran's nuclear proposal, said: During my presidency, I met three times with Jiang Zemin, then Chinese president, and on each occasion I proposed that they help operate this plant. Mr. Zemin, however, told me, 'Drop this project.'

Seyyed Mohammad Khatami said regarding the Chinese President's response to Iran's nuclear proposal: During my presidency, I had three meetings with Jiang Zemin, the then President of China, and in all three cases, I offered to help the operation of this plant. But Mr. Zamin told me to "stop this project".
